Selva di Val Gardena

Our family group of six had an experience of a lifetime hiking in the Seiser Alm and Rosengarten area of the South Tryol Alps, the Dolomites.  Our trip began with a stay at the small, picuresque Villa Insam in Selva Val Gardenia.  It was up the hill a little away from the bustle of the town.  The sheep in the surrounding pasture greeted us.  Our hostess Beatrice was so helpful and gracious.  The breakfast served was very good.  The rooms were clean and well cared for.  We had pleasant conversation with other guests ay breakfast and sitting out front admiring the view and studying our maps for the upcoming days of hiking.

Quiet with beautiful views

Absolutely spectacular setting.  We were pinching ourselves and gawked at the views over and over again.  Louisa is a wonderful host.  Good food.  Fresh pastries in the morning.  Large portions of traditional breakfast.  Room was a little tight and pillows were terrible, but otherwise a very pleasant stay.

Insanely beautiful views from the windows and deck!

A relaxing and peaceful place to stay. Set up on a hill above the town, surrounded by fields and forest, it is the perfect place to chill out in at the end of long days hiking in the beautiful Dolomites. Luisa who manages Villa Insam is a real sweetheart and was so kind and helpful. We loved the old world charm of both the property and the owners.

Immaculate and comfortable, slept like a baby. Views from the room are beautiful. Breakfast was great. there are hiking trails   with in a short walk.
 Reminded me of staying at grandma's house when I was a child, so comfortable.
