Amazing hotel overall! Room was great, facilities were amazing. The waitress Alina (I hope I've spelt her name right) was amazing. She went above and beyond for us, including making a lovely birthday table decoration. 
The only bad thing about the hotel was that tap water was free the entire time, apart from at dinner, where you are charged 3.50euros. For tap water that is usually free, this felt very steep and greedy of the hotel to make us pay at dinner time. Especially as the hotel gives our water, teas and juices for free at all times in the spa.  Otherwise, the hotel was great. Would go back.

This review is for the Landhaus, which is the budget accommodation part of the Neuhaus Zillertal complex. I booked a week’s skiing trip over Christmas 2025 through Crystal Ski.

Positives

- Very close to the ski bus stops and the train station

- Breakfast is excellent, with a huge amount of choice

- Complimentary cakes and pastries are available every afternoon from 14:30, although tea and coffee must be purchased separately

- The spa is amazing, though it comes at a significant extra cost

Negatives

Spa access is not included. Crystal’s website states: “Access to the pool and sauna is limited so can’t be guaranteed.” What this actually means is that if you want to use the spa, you must pay an additional €240 for the week. I raised this with the Crystal reps in resort, and while they agreed the wording could be clearer, they were unable to do anything about it.

I booked half board as part of my package. Initially, the evening meal appeared to be the same as what guests in the main hotel received. However, from Christmas Eve onwards, this changed slightly. The starter option was removed from my menu but remained on the printed menus of other guests. A lovely Austrian lady dining next to me also pointed out that my table was missing a candle and that I had a paper napkin rather than a cloth one like everyone else. Not a massive issue, but it did feel a bit petty.

Evening food options were generally okay, but it’s best to arrive early. The food is not cooked to order, so eating later means it has often been sitting out for quite some time.

The room was as expected: clean but basic. However, if you’re unlucky enough to get a room overlooking the barn at the rear of the building and like to sleep with the window open, be prepared for some strong smells and a lot of noise. The barn is home to the hotel’s cows and pigs, and the pigs make a serious racket when they’re fed every morning at 06:30. Still beats needing an alarm clock. There are no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room, so bring a travel kettle.

There was no waste bin in my room. It took three days and repeated requests from both myself and the Crystal rep to finally get one.

Water is charged with meals. This is standard practice in Austria, but it still feels wrong. I don’t mind paying for wine or other drinks, but charging for tap water is not on.

Beware of extra charges for Spa and dining differences if booking the Landhaus option through Crystal ski.
