Best time to ski in Pila

Pila is blessed with excellent snowfall from December to April, and a decent patrol of snow cannons keeps the slopes topped up when needed. Win, win! There's plenty of sunshine, too, with epic bluebird days and rising temperatures in March and April. Want to whisk the kids away for a fun half-term in the mountains without the crowds? Make sure Pila is on your shortlist - the Italian kids will still be in the classroom.

Things to do in Pila

Zoom down the slopes on a snow tube, whiz through snow-dusted woodlands on a husky sleigh, or head out for a nighttime snowshoe hike. Fancy something more relaxing? Hop on a gondola to nearby Aosta for some retail therapy and drink caffé corretto. Despite its modest size, Pila boasts a lively apres ski scene, especially on weekends when the locals arrive in town. Feast on a mountain load of delicious Italian pizza and gelato, and wash it all down with an Aperol Spritz or a glass of the local vino rosso. Saluti!
