Arinsal walking holidays - at 1,550m in the heart of Andorra's La Massana parish - start higher than most Alpine resorts, with trails fanning out through wildflower meadows, ancient forests, and glacier-carved valleys.
Hiking holidays in Arinsal suit every level. Families will love the marked trails through the Sorteny Nature Park and the three Tristaina lakes loop. Experienced walkers can push into the Pyrenees' Comapedrosa Nature Reserve and up to the 2,943m summit of Coma Pedrosa - Andorra's highest peak. And for something unique, the old smuggler's trail along the French border lets you straddle two countries at once - Andorra and France.
And, when you're done walking for the day, head to town for tax-free shopping or grab some wheels to hit the legendary Pal Arinsal Bikepark - with 60km of trails and 1,000m of vertical drop.

Getting to and around town:
Your airport transfer is included with your trip. Once there, you'll find Arinsal a compact, walkable village with hotels, restaurants, and shops all within easy reach.
Getting to your walks and hikes:
Trails start right from the village - no transport needed - while the La Massana gondola connects the valley to the Pal sector and wider trail network, and the Serra II chairlift opens up further high-altitude terrain.
Local buses run throughout the parishes, linking Arinsal to Andorra la Vella and the Ordino valley as well as Comapedrosa Nature Reserve.

Can I still access Arinsal's lift and gondolas in the summer?
Yes, you can. Arinsal's lifts and gondolas still operate throughout the summer months, provided conditions are safe and favourable, and many of the mountain huts are still operational, so you can grab a bite to eat while savouring those epic mountain views.
When do Arinsal's lifts and gondolas run during summer?

Serra II Chairlift
- Operating times: 09:30 – 17:45

A quick "Mountain Rule of Thumb": Last ascent is usually 15–30 minutes before the official closing time, and Last descent is the very last cabin down. If you miss it, it’s a long walk back!
Can I hire a mountain guide on my Arinsal walking holiday?
Yes, you can. Though these are not currently bookable via the Heidi website, you can enquire and book with the local tourist office, or visit their website. We recommend enquiring early to ensure availability.
What does the Arinsal summer card give me?
Arinsal's Pal Arinsal Summer Pass (free with select accommodation stays) includes 2 lift rides (ascent and descent) on 2 consecutive days on the La Massana gondola, Soldeu gondola, or Canillo gondola lift as well as free access to Pal Arinsal Bike World.
In addition, you can enjoy free and discounted Mountain Park activities - rope courses and the Big Zip 300m zip-line.
