You get what you pay for...

- Food was like school dinners
- School kids made lots of noise until late
- Reception closed until 4pm
- Gave us lift passes with the wrong date
- Manager named Rosemary shouted at me for using the spa in the sister hotel without getting her to ring ahead. She had sorted it out for a family within our ski trip group for 10CHF each but said it was only for the pool. We found out that was a lie. I didn’t know we had to ask her permission and they are never there in the day so we went to reception at the Waldorf and explained the situation and asked how much it was for the spa. They were lovely and said it was 10CHF. The Waldorf Manager later told Rosemary she owed the full price as it was not agreed. Rosemary then shouted at us in reception on our way out to eat at the Pizzeria (because the hotel food is horrible) and did so in hearing of the other guests earing their dinner. She gave me her mobile, demanding I speak to the Waldorf manager and when I did, he was much more calm and actually didn’t even know who he was speaking to as she had shoved me the phone in a rage. She then laughed at me when I got upset about it. We didn’t pay as she realised her mistake or rather the Waldorf’s mistake. She never apologised for shouting at us. She should have approached us or out holiday rep in a professional manner and asked us what had happened and explained the problem. I didn’t want to cause any trouble.
This is the second year we have been and she is known for being strict. No one wants to approach her.

We wont be going back.

With typical Swiss non-fussy efficiency, this hotel catered for a large ski party, and looked after us very well.  The hotel access is down a bit of a slope but we were on a mountain resort.  The manageress/Lady Owner was endlessly patient with our foibles, I blew the money on single occupancy, as I tend to snore, and my room was a roomy suite with a lil balcony and luxury bathroom.  Breakfast was the classic European Cereals/Fruit/breads/Toasts/Jams marmalades & ~Nutella of course/ but I indulged in scrambled and soft boiled eggs with hams/salamis/cold meats and their fantastic fresh breads with perfect crusts and the freshest coffee from a machine that ground the beans each cup.
Dinner was more trencherman, with soups, salads, Mains and little desserts  -more basic.
Beer was a very affordable 5.90 Swiss francs for a 70cl. glass if a remember clearly, wine a little more pricey.

We stayed in this hotel for a week-end with 3 couple of friends.
We booked 4 double-bedrooms (Categorie Top) for 250 CHF per room per night. Rooms were very nice and very large. There all had 4 beds inside.
The hotel as a Sauna (free), a restaurant and a bar. The staff was very friendly :D
The hotel is really well positionned in Arosa, 200m from a public parking (5 CHF per day).
The only down side was the wifi (free) which is not available in the rooms but only at the reception/restaurant.

Staff is not the most experienced, clearly they are learning
Reception closes, which is not normal in a hotel
In the breakfast, we found it odd that no lemon was given, even when asked for

Overall,I would recommend it.

It delivers on its name, and then a bit more!

As a coach driver we had too park in chur at the park and ride then get a bus to the station then a train up the mountain and then a walk in the snow uphill to the hotel arosa is so beautiful you dont mind the walk but it was worth it The name of the hotel does not do it justice it's much better than the name suggests the  beds are comfy and the rooms are warm the balcony has a great view from any room The showers are powerful but if ur 6ft you may struggle as the bathroom has a drop celing and there is no room between ur head and the celing in the shower you have to duck down breakfast is great lots of choice and the staff are so friendly great as a base 5 min walk from the station whilst there I did the pink walk and the views were breathtaking top marks thank you
