I absolutely loved staying at Chalet Skade with Hofnar! Our hosts Thea & Passey were excellent- they made everyone feel immediately at home, cooked us delicious dinners, organised lunches & generally looked after everybody SO well! The chalet is really cosy and homely, with gorgeous views and a hot tub. If you’re looking for a fun and sociable but also relaxing place to ski from, this is it! I can’t wait to go back!

The best week in the mountains

Thea and Passey were phenomenal hosts who somehow made everything look effortless; from running the chalet and cooking amazing meals, to riding with the group and ensuring no one was left behind, sharing local knowledge, and even guiding nights out to keep the good vibes going. They genuinely felt like close, caring friends.

The chalet itself is in a great location just a short walk over the bridge to the Super Morzine lift and lockers, with incredible views over town. The hot tub and sauna were absolute lifesavers after a long day riding, and the chalet was always warm, spotless, and well stocked with beers, wine, and snacks.

As a HOFNAR first timer coming in solo, I wasn't sure what to expect, but it didn’t take long at all for the group to feel comfortable with each other and joke around like old friends. Before the trip was even over, we were already talking about when we could come back next.

I would 100% recommend staying here if you’re heading to Morzine. Make sure to grab a (few rounds of) vin chaud from The Cat and Dog!

Like a home away from home

What an amazing week these guys run. Absolute lovely chalet with everything you could possibly need and want run by very attentive, but at the same time relaxed, hosts. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Morzine to book in here with HOFNAR.

Amazing chalet with great hosts and great atmosphere

From the moment I arrived, it felt less like staying in a chalet and more like being welcomed into a group of old friends. 

Thea and Passey are exceptional hosts - warm, attentive, and effortlessly fun. They made sure everything ran smoothly and created a relaxed and social atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. And then there’s Passey’s cocktail… the infamous “Pacifier.” Dangerous in the best possible way, and absolutely a highlight of the week.

Snow, Rosé, & Apres

I stayed at Hofnar Skade for a week over Christmas and had the best time. The chalet is spotless, super clean, and really well looked after. I arrived solo but within no time it felt like I’d joined a group of friends rather than a holiday with strangers. The vibe was brilliant and everyone staying there was so friendly, which made the week even more enjoyable.

The hosts, Thea and Passey, were incredible. The food was amazing all week, including an absolutely incredible Christmas feast that Thea cooked, it was honestly one of the highlights of the trip. They were great guides on and off the slopes and completely brought the fun and party vibes. Evenings were always a highlight too, whether that meant heading into town for a night out or staying in with games and lots of laughs. They made sure there was always something going on and that everyone felt included.

If you’re thinking about doing a solo ski or snowboard trip, I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough. Incredible hosts, great accommodation, amazing people, and a week full of fun from morning to night. I’d definitely go back!

An Unforgettable Week at Hofnar Skade

A really laid back chalet. Most people come along on their own and join in with our really sociable holidays. Young professionals in their twenties and thirties - no kids! During the winter we ski and snowboard, during the summer we do everything from paragliding to mountain biking...
