The Dependance part is the old building next door. room big enough and bed comfortable. The shower wouldn't drain and kept having to turn the shower off so we didn't flood the bathroom. Great views though and quite good breakfast. Friendly staff.

A bit tired

Seeking a cost effective option to offer a roof and breakfast, we could not have been happier.  Strong WiFi, secure rooms, friendly hosts, and breakfast to suit anyone's needs.  It is located 7 minutes from the NorthFace store as we arrived with a snow storm on September 1st to climb and were woefully under dressed for the occasion.  Parking is free and easy to access.  Overall if looking for a cost effective B&B in Cortina, this is a great option.

Quaint Hotel for Hiking in Cortina d'Ampezzo

We stayed for two nights and had two rooms.  One for my husband and myself and one for our adult children.  If you are looking for a 5 star Fancy Hotel...This may not be your best option.  But we found it to be sufficient and conveniently located.  The rooms weren't fancy but they were clean.  The views from each room (opposite sides of bldg) were breathtaking.  The staff the checked us in and out were extremely polite and helpful and spoke English for us as we do not speak Italian.  The breakfast was local tradition breakfast and very good.  When in Cortina, you probably won't spend much time in your hotel anyway.  The area is too beautiful to lock yourself away.  We would stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

We stayed two nights at the Dependance Hotel Corona. There are plus points and minus points about the hotel.

+ points
1. The room had quaint wooden panelling with faded charm.
2. The balcony had a small view onto the spectacular Dolomites.
3. The breakfast (taken at the adjacent Corona Hotel) was good and plentiful.
4. The room was quiet although located on a busy road.
5. The location of the hotel was reasonably convenient for both the centre of Cortina and for one of the cable car stations.

- points
1. The room was in serious need of refurbishment, especially the furniture and the bathroom. (In particular, the mirror was in a very poor state.)
2. The hotel had a musty smell in the common areas.
3. The staff at the hotel were not at all helpful (and quite rude at one point). The breakfast staff were an exception  - they were welcoming and efficient.
4. The TV was very small and was nearly impossible to watch from the bed.
