Unterschwarzachhof is one of the finest hotels I’ve stayed at in Europe. The family-owned property combines exquisite design, impeccable service, and heartfelt hospitality. The spa is outstanding, with three saunas, serene relaxation rooms, and a stunning indoor/outdoor pool. My children loved hiking, biking, zip lining, and spending time at the hotel’s farm — making butter, collecting eggs, and playing with the animals. Every meal was exceptional, the rooms were beautifully appointed, and the owners’ warmth made our stay unforgettable. Unterschwarzachhof is more than a hotel — it’s an experience of beauty, comfort, and authentic alpine charm.

A Magical Family Getaway in the Austrian Alps

We stayed for a week in the summer. The walking from here is brilliant. Lots of lifts and you are soon away from the crowds when you move away from the lifts. 

The hotel room was nice we had a view of what would be the slope. Therefore if you come in the winter it is a very good location outside a lift and what appears to be an apre ski bar . This was close whilst we were there. Such a shame as it was lovely location. 

The food is top notch. We had breakfast included and ate at the restraunt during the week and it was our best meal whilst in the resort. Only downside breakfast is served outside at the carpark . Poor design. No view. 

Pool was a nice space. More Bali style than Alps.  I love a pool with a view… just personal preference. I didn’t book this trip. 
 
Would I go back yes… you bet I would.  The service and food are all top notch. 

Winter here would be fab but resort is not high… not sure about snow condition’s.
