Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your family stay. I sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and would like to provide a few clarifications.

Regarding the ski-in / ski-out access, this indeed depends on snow conditions, particularly early in the season. As the nearby lift could not operate during your stay, we implemented a shuttle service to Courchevel 1550, in addition to existing public transport options. Natural conditions in the mountains sometimes require adjustments, which we always strive to accommodate as best we can.

I am, however, pleased to read your positive comments about our Ski Room Team, who are regularly praised for their friendliness and professionalism.

Concerning breakfast, our offering is based on a buffet selection. Certain items, such as fried eggs or omelettes, are available à la carte, in accordance with a clearly displayed policy, even if this may have come as a surprise.

With regard to ski passes, I regret your dissatisfaction. Passes are issued based on the elements validated prior to billing. Nevertheless, a partial adjustment was granted after review.

As for the Concierge service, availability during the festive period is particularly tight. I regret that the follow-up did not meet your expectations, despite your own efforts eventually leading to successful reservations.

Finally, regarding the room size and bedding, our family room layouts vary depending on the category. I am sorry that the mattress comfort did not suit you, a matter which is by nature subjective.

I regret that your stay left you with this impression, despite the genuine commitment of our Teams during a period of very high occupancy. L’Écrin Blanc remains a warm, family-oriented hotel, appreciated by many loyal Guests.

My family and I stayed here for 7 nights from the 26th Dec.

We were extremely disappointed with the hotel, and definitely wouldn’t return.

The hotel is advertised as ski in/ski out, which from what I now know is only when there is good snow. When the snow isn’t good, the lift outside the hotel doesn’t run and you have to get transport to either the lifts at 1550 or 1650. These lifts aren’t too far away, but not walkable in ski boots with all your ski gear. The hotel did lay on a shuttle to 1550, but this was only for 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon between 4-5, so if you wanted to leave after 9:30 to ski or come back to the hotel earlier than 4pm, you would need to arrange a taxi yourself; or you could call the hotel to arrange this for you, but they charge a flat fee of €50 from 1850 and €40 from 1550. You are better off arranging your own taxi, as they are cheaper than what the hotel charges. I understand that the hotel isn’t responsible for the amount of snowfall, but I believe this should be better advertised, and when the lifts aren’t running, they should have at least 1 shuttle running throughout the whole day for guests who need taking or picking up. It’s a large hotel with many guests and to keep the guests happy when the lifts aren’t running, I don’t think this would be a big expense for them. 

The staff in the boot room were all really friendly and helpful, a pleasure to see every morning and afternoon.

There was very little choice at breakfast, the only egg option available was scrambled. My children only like fried eggs and when i requested them they said it would cost €6 and an omelette would cost €8. I have never stayed at a hotel where breakfast is included in the stay yet be charged for fried eggs before, it just felt very petty as fried eggs are a standard breakfast staple.

The concierge at the hotel overcharged us for our lift pass. We asked him for 4 lift passes for 6 days, he gave us a lift pass for 7 day and when we queried it he said we got the 7th night for free so it’s the same price, we took his word for it signed the form and paid. It was until the end of the holiday when friends who were in a different hotel informed us what they paid for their ski passes and it was €475 cheaper than what we paid. I checked online and this was correct. I queried this with the receptionist who told me that I had signed the form so there wouldn’t be anything they could do. We went back and forth again few times and eventually they agreed to a €235 refund, it wasn’t the full amount, but we checked out so early we didn’t have time to argue. Just be very careful when booking lift passes with the concierge and check the price online first. 

Before we arrived I asked the concierge to book some restaurants for lunch for us each day we were there , and gave him a list. We did book up quite last minute so I knew this wasn’t an easy task, but I expected him to manage to book more than 1 restaurant. He said the restaurants were full asked him to call in the mornings for last minute cancellations, but I never heard from him after that and he never called  any of them. I called myself every morning and managed to get in all the restaurants I wanted with no help from him. On the last day I couldn’t ski, so I emailed him  at 10 o clock and asked for any recommendations of restaurants in 1850 for lunch that day that you could access without skiing to, he didn’t respond until 3:30, which was obviously too late and lunch had passed.

The room was small for a family of 4 and the bed was the most uncomfortable hard bed I have ever slept on.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay. I must confess that reading it was also a great disappointment for us, and I therefore wish to respond with clarity.

You rightly emphasize the commitment and professionalism of our Valet Team, for which I sincerely thank them. Their involvement is constant and regularly praised by many of our Guests.

Regarding Aquamotion, it is the largest high-altitude aquatic centre, with direct access from the hotel. It is a major public facility in Courchevel, entirely independent from our management, both in terms of attendance and pool supervision. During holiday periods and festive weeks, attendance is naturally very high, as it is throughout the resort. I will of course share your coments with the Management of Aquamotion.

When it comes to location and access to the slopes, we communicate transparently: ski-in/ski-out access depends on snow conditions, particularly at the beginning of the season. The nearby lift could not open due to insufficient snowfall, a natural factor beyond the control of any mountain establishment. Aware of the resulting constraints (bus or car), we implemented an additional shuttle service for around ten days, in order to offer our Guests alternative solutions.

As for the New Year’s Eve dinner, no Michelin-starred Chef was announced or present this year (this was the case last year). We don't claim to be a Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant, but rather a family-oriented 4-star hotel, offering a festive, convivial evening designed for an intergenerational audience, with over 130 children present that night. The menu received many positive comments, including from families who have celebrated New Year’s Eve at L’Écrin Blanc on several occasions. Describing this offering as “inedible” is an extremely harsh assessment that we do not share. We also adapted the organisation of the evening based on previous feedback: this year, dinner service began at 8:00 pm. It is unfortunate that you did not fully enjoy the show, which is often the true highlight of the evening.

As for the general organisation and check-in, it is true that on that particular day, due to very high occupancy, some rooms were delivered later than expected. In this context, Guests were invited to enjoy the complimentary afternoon tea, the entertainment and the common areas while our Teams finalize room preparation.

Finally, I deeply regret that your stay did not meet your expectations, despite the genuine involvement of our Management and our Teams. L’Écrin Blanc is a lively, human and family-oriented hotel, set in a demanding mountain environment, especially during peak season. We also offer one of the best value-for-money propositions in the resort.

I wish you all the best for the future, with stays that are more in line with your expectations and travel habits.

The location to Aquamotion couldn't be better as it is attached to the hotel.  Forget that for a  moment because it will be packed with people and it's dangerous for the kids as the lifeguards are not doing their jobs properly.  The kids all going down at once without regulation on the slides endangering yours.  The pools are packed unacceptably so.    Everyone came to ski and that is a failure for this hotel.  In brief courshevel is divided into villages.  This hotel is 10 minutes walk above 1550 and 15 minutes walk below 1650.  The restaurants are in the villages.  You'll need to be at ideally 1850 in Dec Jan which is the top of the mountain to ski since they have the best snow.   This is a 15 minute drive and not walkable.  The lift near the hotel to get you up the mountain to the slope won't have enough snow, which happens this time of year so you have to drive up or bus up.  It's not helpful .   Bussing is a horrible experience as it will be packed and you'll like stand or have to wait and wait.   If you drive, you best be up there early or you wont get a spot in the garage. We drive every day at 830am to get the spot.  The hotel doesn't have a shuttle service.  A van is 50 Euro each way.   The restaurant for New Years was horrific and I can't even tell you how bad it was ....  Not just me but every family we spoke to said the same and I mean a lot of families .  The reviews say that same about the year before...and management response is that a Michelin chef makes it all happen.  I call that a serious lie.  The level of food was worse than anything imaginary quality.  The soup was absolutely inedible as was the chicken for the kids that seemed like it was cooked 5 hours before.   It's impossible to mess up soup.  Just follow a recipe and keep it warm....We couldn't eat the food at all and frankly I can eat anything.  I asked for a credit and they denied it.   That said I would overlook it all if they cared a drop to make sure the kids meal was half quality....To serve the horrible food to children is frankly unconscionable, especially since dinner doesn't start until 8pm.  Ours started with frozen like puff pastry which is a joke and came at 815pm. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving this to children...and the timing was terrible.  We skipped half the meal and left early.  The 500 euro per person dinner and entertainment was minimal value ...Horrible food and poor service.  Some of the people we knew there said the entertainment was inappropriate for children and were very unhappy.  I wouldn't disagree... We overlooked it.  Breakfast is adequate, but not impressive.  Same things every day.  They can't keep up with their staff and as a result we and many others had a very late check in.  They guarantee by 4pm which is late ... but couldn't get it done by then even so we and many others waited and waited. Staff try really hard but it all is poor.    The rooms are base.  We had a suite which is required for a family of 4.  The suite is tiny.   Toilet is in a TC next to front door and living room and bedroom bath doesn't have a toilet.  If you're going for Xmas and new years, find a place in ideally 1850 or at least 1650, and book early about 10 months in advance.  You'll thank me every day you're there.  That said the Valet staff are exceptional and deserve recognition.  If management can't figure out that last year and this year their food is terrible then that says it all.  Don't pee on someone's leg and tell me it's raining.  Own up to it and management should be involved and make it quality.  It's really not that hard.

The welcoming part is not so friendly. The info you get is wrong. They always send you to the concierge who is unfriendly and gives wrong information. The main reason why we won’t come back is because of the beds. We didn’t sleep for a week. It felt let sleeping on the floor so hard that the matras is.
