Etoile des Neiges

Very reasonably priced and the staff go above and beyond. 
Isaac gave great recommendations for drinks, and made us some of his own specialities. 
Good atmosphere in the bar area, and isn’t overly busy. If you want a calmer and more chilled out and quiet experience, then this is the place for you. 
Super close to one of the ski lifts, but there is a slope immediately before you get to the ski schools / bars, as you get off it, so if you’re a brand new beginner like me, you may have to take your skis off and walk down the first couple of times. 
We booked last minute and had 4 adults in 1 room, it was manageable, but next time we will book 2 rooms for sure. 
Overall, a lovely and friendly hotel, clean rooms, nice breakfast (which they will serve early if you have an early flight - thank you again!) with amazing customer service from all staff. The restaurant which is located down the road has great food and very reasonably priced - I would recommend booking beforehand though.

Superb staff, and nice hotel

We had a truly wonderful experience at L'Etoile des Neiges in Sauze d'Oulx.

L’Etoile des Neiges is housed in a beautiful, traditional stone-and-wood building — a former farmhouse, as the owners kindly explained to us. The same family also runs the restaurant of the same name, located just a short walk away.
The rooms are delightful: comfortable, tastefully decorated, simple yet thoughtfully designed. Everything is spotless and impeccably maintained. The breakfast is excellent, showcasing high-quality local products — the same ingredients that are beautifully prepared and elevated at the restaurant.
The hotel offers a stunning view of the surrounding mountains and is ideally located in the heart of the charming hamlet of Jouvenceaux.

It is already a wonderful address in itself — but what truly makes it exceptional is the warmth and kindness of the family who runs it. It takes very little time to feel at ease, to start conversations, to share moments, and to feel not just like a guest in a hotel, but almost at home.
At a time when tourism is becoming increasingly anonymous, this is a rare and genuine experience of human connection.
