4 of us stayed 5 nights in an apartment which could sleep 6. It was on two floors and had 3 bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and a balcony right above the river. It was clean and comfortable.
The front desk staff were super nice and helpful. Everything we asked about was immediately seen to, and information sought for us.
The location was great, right in the centre of town and we could walk to shops and cafes easily. The views of the surrounding mountains were a lovely bonus!

This is more like a 2 star hotel (mountain refuge), with quite clean but basic rooms (no fridge, but with teapot). We stayed 2 nights in July as part of a group. Free parking outside. The breakfast place was poorly illuminated, and the breakfast quite basic too. The village is a ski station in a nice mountain area, but about 1 h 40 min drive from the fjord and the Flam train. The best was the attention of the people at the reception desk.

Great location in the centre of Hemsedal nearby shops, ski centre and restaurants. The apartment was for 4 people according to the ad, but only with one bedroom with windows. Extremely noisy 24/7, either from ventilation systems, noisy guests or nightclub. Rubbish and vomit outside the windows (we stayed in the basement....) daily which had not been cleaned up during the day or our stay. Expensive apartment to rent and certainly not worth the price. May be a good place on weekdays. This place is not recommended!

Great location - but terrible place to stay

the room was big and nice, a little bit old style and not very clean. You must be careful to hidden costs, the price for sheets, towels and final cleaning is really high and it isn't written anywhere.  For one night they asked more than twice the price agreed for the room: we spent 1100 nok for the room and 1300 nok for towels and cleaning. When we asked to the owner for explanation he answered very rude. Might be a good choice if you want to stay a week, however, if you need to be only one night not worth it, too expensive.

not worth it

Big mistake to book this as a accommodation for a weeks family ski holiday. Our apartment it turns out is under a nightclub. It is now 2am and we are still awake to the music thumping through the ceiling. Experience from hell. Wouldn't want anyone else to make same mistake as us. Strictly for night owls!
