This is a family run Gasthof. Very freindly people, speaking English! The room was big, with a nice wiev, 3rd floor (elevator). The kitchen is good. E-charger available! Parking in front of the gasthof.
Ideal starting point for bikeing around the lakes. We go back again for sure.

Close to Wolfgang See but a little bit out of the main tourist mass. Nothing fancy. Reliable. Small menu but everything is solid quality. The fisch is extraordinary. We are visiting this place every summer for 9 years. We were never disappointed. 
The staff is kind and polite. We never had to wait too much for the food. Deserts are a little bit too sweet for me. There are better places for deserts around.

Easygoing kind place

We had booked for one week in advance. After an afternoon and a night we decided that we could not stand staying here for the entire week. We had booked due to the good reviews and had thought of the bad ones as a bit ‘over the top’. Unfortunately the poor reviews proved to be quite accurate. The smell of frying oil is quite noticeable everywhere except perhaps the swimming pool area. The dining area is integrated into the well frequented pub area, which we did not experience as particularly suitable for a family. From our perspective the swimming pool, sauna area as well as the bathroom were in quite a need of refurbishment. In general, renovation activities seemed to have focused primarily on the restaurant/ pub area and not on the hotel. Despite the fact that the hotel was evidently not fully booked, upon departure, we were charged an extra night plus food for the entire family. The argument provided was that we could have also been charged 90% of the entire booking. All in all a truly unpleasant experience in the beginning of our vacation which we could have done without. In the end we found a JUFA Hotel in Altaussee where we all had a great time.

Not recommendable

We spent 4 nights at zimbachmüehle with our kids. The gasthaus is in nice and quite location, many atraction in reach by car. 
Gasthaus was nice and clean, has a swimming pool (free to use daily) and sauna (additioan charge), summer terrase and playground for children. 
We enjoyed breakfasts especially homemade marmelades and we took advantage of offered half board which was delishes, food was really great. 
Owners and staff were all very nice and helpful. I appreciate very much that when my daughter dropped a toy from the balkony to the roof below the owner went and got it for her before she ate her breakfast - thank you very much for that. 
We enjoyed our time 100% and will be bacj for sure - thank you zimbachmüehle for making our stay speccial ❤
