GOING TRIPLE A apartments EAST

Going am Wilden Kaiser

We stayed for 1 week as a family of four. Two adults and children ages 10 and 13 yrs. Full board. 
We came to go snowboarding and skiing. 
There is a Ski bus bus that leaves  right outside the hotel and takes you to a drag lift which leads up to a chairlift where you can access the Going  ski area. The bus  takes about 4 mins! Whilst we’re not beginners, we noticed that it was a really good place to learn as the learner slope is quite long. It was  also really quiet!  You could also get a bus to the Hartkaiser gondola. Roughly 10mins. 
We were very impressed with the hotel it felt very luxurious and it was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help, the service was incredible.
We have stayed in Austria three times before so have a good idea of what to expect from hotel food in a Ski hotel. The food here was really good a high 4 out of 5! Our children are annoyingly fussy and they managed to find something to eat every night! 
The hotel felt really safe and the children were able to wander around in the evenings. There was a good sports area with a pool table and a ping-pong table and a small basketball court.
When booking for some reason we found the room selection quite confusing! We thought we had booked a room with two separate bedroom areas. But it was actually one room. We stayed in a really cool room with a round bunkbeds that were a double bed top and bottom. This was great for older children, but it will be no good for smaller children. The ladder was quite high and precarious.
We had to swap rooms midweek due to a booking error on our part. The second room was also lovely with a double bed and a bunk bed for the children. The bunkbed was purpose-built to either be a single bed or a bed with a bunk at the  top that pulled down. This top bunk was too small for my 13-year-old who is 155 cm. She slept on the bottom and the 10 year-old slept on the top but I felt depending on the size of your child this age was really the limit as to which you could sleep comfortably on that bunk.  Both  rooms were  really lovely and had a balcony that overlooked the hotel grounds.
There is a small adult sauna area which is really nice and a roof top hot tub which over looks the mountains. The swimming pool area is also lovely and my children were old enough to enjoy this alone while we relaxed in the adult sauna!
We were lucky enough to have sunshine every day and it was uncharacteristically warm for the time of year. 
We enjoyed some apres  drinks and afternoon cakes after a day on the slopes in the garden. seating area. It was lovely with a play area for younger children. Although my older two did enjoy the trampoline! 
This is a fantastic family hotel. We will definitely consider returning and we have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to friends and family.
My only suggestion would be some hooks please in room 207! There was nothing to hang any towels or robes or Ski gear on ha ha!

Amazing hotel

Our family had an absolutely incredible stay at Vitalhotel Sonnenhof, and we can’t recommend it highly enough!

Perfect Location for Skiing & Adventure

The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a 10-minute walk from the ski slopes, making it incredibly easy to get on the mountain each day. For added convenience, there’s a ski bus right outside, but the hotel also went above and beyond by arranging transport for us whenever we needed—a truly seamless experience that made skiing hassle-free.

Outstanding Food & Dining Experience

The food was fantastic and varied, catering to all tastes—even our fussy eater, Margo, always found something delicious to enjoy! The breakfast spread was excellent, with plenty of fresh, high-quality options, and dinner each night was beautifully prepared and full of flavour.

Perfect for Families

This hotel is exceptionally family-friendly. Our daughters loved the pool, making use of it every single day, and the thoughtful touch of children’s spa robes made them feel so special. The spa and wellness facilities are amazing, with Beth particularly enjoying the rooftop hot tub and swim spa, which offered breathtaking views and total relaxation.

Excellent Facilities & Personal Service

The well-equipped gym had everything we needed, and the level of service and hospitality at the hotel was truly next level. Special mention goes to Verina at reception, who co-owns the hotel with her father. She went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, organising an unforgettable evening for us—transport to the amazing restaurant Jezz, followed by night sledging down the mountain after dinner, which was a huge highlight of our trip!

An Unforgettable Experience

From start to finish, Vitalhotel Sonnenhof exceeded all expectations. The perfect mix of ski convenience, luxury, adventure, and warm hospitality, this hotel truly offers something special.
