Grand Hotel Stamary

Zakopane

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Stamary for 2 nights and cannot find anything negative to say about it.  If arriving in Zakopane by bus or train the hotel is only a few minutes walk away.  Obviously outside it is a beautiful building which continues on inside, pure old world charm with dark wood beautiful furniture, lovely pictures and squishy sofas in which to relax with a book, drink etc.  Our room was well furnished with very comfy bed, excellent bathroom with very good toiletries provided.  The view from the room was just beautiful.
Reception staff were helpful, polite and friendly.  We did encounter 2 'cleaning' staff who were also friendly and smiley, especially as we don't speak Polish.
The breakfast buffet was very, very, very good!  To be honest I couldn't think of anything that was missing.
We had dinner both nights at the hotel and OMG both nights were EXCELLENT.  The Restaurant Manager/Waiter (sorry I didn't get his name, the gentleman with black beard) was so knowledgeable regarding the food available and also interested in the customers preferences, he obviously works very well with the EXCELLENT Chef.  All food we had was nicely presented, very well cooked and seasoned/flavoured.  The 'complimentary' starter/tasters were delicious and something we would not have normally tried.  However, the 'piece de resistance' must be the 'Speciality' ice cream - you must try this and leave it up to the staff to decide on flavours!
We've been lucky enough to stay at the Banff Springs Hotel in Banff Canada and to be honest I would put Grand Hotel Stamary on par with that.  All I can say is we look forward to returning soon I hope and Thank You for a lovely short break.

EXCELLENT HOTEL & RESTAURANT

We had a fantastic three-night stay at the Grand Hotel Stamary in Zakopane and would happily rate it 5 out of 5. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The hotel is incredibly convenient—just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, which made our arrival and departure completely stress-free.

The staff were consistently polite, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, The hotel itself is beautifully presented, with elegant décor that creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Even the scent as you walk into the lobby adds to that sense of luxury and attention to detail.

Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, providing the perfect place to relax after a day exploring Zakopane. The spa facilities were excellent—well-maintained and ideal for unwinding.

The location is another big plus, being less than a 10-minute walk to the main high street where you’ll find a great selection of restaurants and shops.

Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zakopane.

Amazing few nights away

A brilliant first skiing trip with the family. Zakopane is a fab place to learn. Very pretty with great food and lots of non-skiing snowy fun too. 
The hotel was great - amazing breakfast, friendly staff and lovely pool. 
I think you can get buses to the slopes but we just used uber-ski for £5-10 per ride depending how far you were going.
Had a great time - would thoroughly recommend.

Great location, tasty food, clean, spa, everything for a nice and memorable stay.

Great family time

The apartment was clean and cosy. We were pleasantly surprised to see that the rooms were decorated for Christmas. Many thanks to the hosts for the pleasant atmosphere and the attention!
