 I have never felt discriminated in my life as much as before we spent a couple of days at Hotel Eliova L'Eau Vive. We arrived on a Wednesday evening and payed and stayed for two days including dinner etc... On the third day we extended our reservation for one more night because although we felt some hostility from the part of the service team we felt confident we can stay for one more night without any problems. On the third night after we extended our reservation they insisted we pay immediately for the room nevertheless they had all our bank and personal details at hand. They told us we could be criminals escaping off to Paris without giving them any reason to think so. They told us if we don't pay now 10pm at night they are going to call the police immediately. I've never been treated this way in my life before I think this is a perfect example of xenophobia.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It’s brilliantly positioned (100 metre walk from the Linga lift), with fantastic food and really friendly staff. 
Special thanks to Axel and Liv for making our stay so good. 

Will definitely be returning in the future!

We visited the hotel in March but our stay was cut short due to the outbreak of corona virus however the owners and staff of the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. They were so kind and welcoming and were more than happy to help us out if we ever had any concerns. The food was so different to what I would normally eat but was cooked very well and served so quickly and was fresh! Breakfast had so many options too including a pancake making station - the coffee was also incredible! The rooms were very spacious and although basic and traditional, for the price you pay it had all the needs. It was so close to the linga lift and only a 30 min walk into Chatel - or there's also a bus service that runs every 15 mins. 

The main reason we loved this hotel were the staff. They were so accommodating and  are the best part about the hotel. Please stay here if you're looming for a basic, cheap but great skiing holiday.

At the heart of the 'Portes du Soleil', discover Châtel, a charming typical village of the Alps. The resort, with its many ski slopes and lifts that straddle the border, offers the originality of being able to ski into Switzerland. The hotel ELIOVA L'EAU VIVE is located 100m from the Linga ski lifts, which connect to the 'Portes du Soleil' ski area. Free shuttles to the centre of the resort. This hotel is particularly recommended for skiers wishing to be accommodated at the foot of the ski lifts. Its warm atmosphere is also relaxing and restful. On floors 1 and 2, 28 bedrooms with 2, 3 or 4 beds with a private bathroom, with shower and toilet. All rooms are non-smoking. Flat screen TV by satellite in all bedrooms. Opportunity to stay in bed & breakfast, half board or full board. If you would like lunch on the slopes, packed lunches are available on request (please order the day before at reception). Restaurant, Bar, lounge with newspapers, ski storage. All Public and Private spaces non-smoking. Free ! Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel free of charge. Free ! Free private parking is possible on site (limited number of spaces, no reservation in advance) Credit cards accepted: Visa, Eurocard / Mastercard. Pets are not allowed in our hotels.
