We didn't know anything about Lenk before this trip, so we chose Hotel Garni Alpenruh because it was near the train station.  An excellent choice!  Martin and Sonja and their staff are excellent hosts.  When the wifi reception in the room wasn't good, Martin immediately transferred us to a different router.  Breakfasts had a variety of local breads and cheeses.  We were given cards for travel on buses in the valley (not covered by SwissPass) and gondola lifts into the mountains.  Martin gave excellent advice on hiking possibilities.  The comparison of what we paid and the value we received enhanced this as an excellent choice!  The only drawback was that there was no lift, but this was not a problem.

Excellent hospitality.. Clean, warm, comfortable and friendly. Beds are a little hard but you can get used to that.
Straight across the road from the train station, having taken the train from Zurich airport that was convience at it's best. Ski lift a few hundred yards up the road or take the bus from the train station the mile to the other ski lift for the adelboden side of the valley.
As always in the Swiss countryside the breakfast is superb. Your on your own for lunch and dinner. Plenty to choose from round the town.
Good value in my opinion and if your not expecting a plush hotel you'll be very happy with a quality experience.

Super and Simple

It's a hotel that delivers very good value for money. Perhaps this is the best deal in town. The Hotel has spacious rooms, good beds, a private balcony (with nice flowers in the summer season). It's located just besides the main street (2 miute walk to the main sqaure) in the lovely mountain village of Lenk. The railway station is just 150 meter away. If you are going here during the Winter season it's a rather good option. The ski busses make their stops rather close. The main gondola is not within walking distance. It cannot be reached on skis (but the end of the slopes are within walking distance).

The hotel offers rooms with or without a bathroom (and breakfast is included). We stayed in a room without a bathroom, which was not a problem because everything in this hotel is cleaned thoroughly (the hotel manager even cleans the public road in front of the hotel).
