It is very beautiful place to stay in Scuol area. I was always looking for hotels in Scuol, and just once I have chance to visit Ftan, it is amazing village! Hotel is nice, staff is excellent, views are stunning and Ftan village is so quite and nice, definitely go and visit village to check Agriculture around, it is just amazing! From now only Ftan and only Hotel Engiadina

Ftan is one of a string of picture-perfect villages full of pretty traditional houses perched above of the Lower Engadine valley and like most of the others, it has its handful of decent hotels. The Engiadina in Ftan is a particularly good bet because this village is close to Scuol, Tarasp castle and the National Park and is on the popular hiking route above the valley. The hotel itself offers good-sized rooms in immaculate condition, separate bath- and shower rooms, an ample buffet breakfast and sensible rates (including a free pass to all local cable-cars etc for each guest during their stay). Easy to find in the middle of the village (the church clock may keep some awake at night...), with plenty of room to park. Some of the local specialities may not be to everyone's taste but there are other options in the village and plenty more in nearby Scuol. An excellent choice in a glorious corner of Switzerland.

This was just a stop off for me ,but it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and stunning locations that I have ever visited ! It is truly beautiful and peaceful  there ,the staff are friendly and helpful the place was clinically clean ,this place is perfect please if your in that area try it ,I assure you that's its well worth the stop

We (2 adults, 2 girls 7+10 years old) stayed at Hotel Edelweiss in Davos at Xmas 2012. That was an excellent choice for a family vacation and in line with our budget (300 swiss francs per night for room/s and breakfast - not that easy to find in Swiss Alpine resorts !). Davos had kind of a generic "big town resort" feel, however, and we were looking for a more quaint Swiss mountain village. Ftan definitely is this kind of place: small, sunny, with beautiful historic buildings, sheep and cattle kept by local farmers in the village (the girls loved it all). Hotel Engiadina was a very excellent choice. 3 min walk to the ski lifts (Ftan ski lift brings you right up to the Scuol skiing area). The hotel has a new owner (Ms. Füchslin) who is very friendly, helpful and ambitious, i.e. in summer 2013 she hired a new chef for the hotel's restaurant who is young, ambitious and he previously worked at the *****Hotel Paradies in Ftan. You get an extremely nice 4 course dinner for 59 swiss francs, tasty and "pleasantly contemporary": the focus of the chef is on natural, local seasonal ingredients and attractive presentation and less heavy on the cream and meat as in many more "traditional" Swiss restaurants (Check out the local buffalo mozzarella). The breakfast buffet is great as well, with local honey, homemade jam, cheeses from the area, excellent breads from the local bakery. Highly recommended.

I stayed here when visiting friends in Ftan. It is a classic Swiss lodging right in the center of town. You can walk/ski from the lifts to the front door. The bus to Scuol stops nearby, too. I loved the view of the Alps from my room. I had a nice-sized room and very big bathroom, too. Clean, modern and comfortable. I didn't eat here, but the breakfast looked delicious! I plan to come back next year; I love it here.
