The only reason the review wasn't 1 out of 5 was because of the quality of the food. This was Fawlty Towers this week. We booked as a family of 14 with 10 flying from London and 4 from Manchester. We were picked up in an old van which was crammed full with booze and just enough room for the four of us. Once checked in we were allocated a large room with a double and twin beds. I was pretty sure this was for my Brother and his family and told them so but they insisted it was ours. Our sons were in a room which wouldn't be allowed in the UK due to poor health and safety with a huge rafter from below providing an obstacle to step over to get to their beds.
My Brother arrived just before dinner and was told that there weren't any rooms for him and the five others. Dinner was absolutely hectic with nowhere to sit as there were people dining who weren't staying at the hotel. A table of 21 had been created in the sitting area and we had been moved from the sofas so everybody dining was standing around. Guests were not allowed in the dining room until we were called for dinner.
After dinner my Brother was told they had found bedrooms for them. They had a three bed for four of them with a mattress on the floor which I helped to carry up two flights of stairs. My Niece and Nephew aged 21 and 18 who had a single room each were allocated a box room with a very small double bed!!
Next day we swapped our room with my Brother even though we were supposed to have booked a deluxe room. The bathroom was smelly and after two nights my Niece and Nephew were allocated their own rooms. My Niece probably got our room as she had a deluxe room all to herself but none of us could be bothered to swap again.
They were completely overstretched (their own fault) and whilst they did try to do their best it was New Year week and it was absolute chaos.
The final straw was on the transfer back to the airport. We were leaving early and we arrived in reception half an hour before our pick up time just to ensure our transfer was there. A battered van was there with two windows put through and taped up. When we loaded up the van it wouldn't start and we had to push it to jump start it. The young lad who was driving then said there was barely any diesel in it and we set off down the hill and free wheeled for 20 km to a diesel station. We made it and arrived on time for our flight home grateful but cold.
My Sister In Law wrote an email of complaint which as we expected was ignored as had numerous whatsapp calls to the owner whilst we were there during the week. This hotel is definitely one to avoid.

Shocking organisation with no communication

This is my 5th visit with and without family.  A fantastic hotel, beautiful decor, simple and atmospheric with great food.  The owners are brilliant hosts.  Can’t recommend more highly.  They even offer ski rental.

Hotel Millefiori

I had a wonderful stay at this charming chalet in the Italian Alps. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The food was excellent — delicious, fresh, and full of local flavor.

The chalet itself feels cozy and inviting, with breathtaking views that you can enjoy from morning to night. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and truly appreciate the beauty of the mountains. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Alpine experience.

Hotell Millefiori is the hotel of adventure and hospitality. When you arrive to our hotel you are more than a client- you are a guest of the house. Warm up after a day of skiing in the spa pool or in front of the lodges fire place with a cold drink. The hotel is newly renovated which means everything is new. The hotel is designed with a combination of the typical alpine and scandinavian style.
