(This app only lets us give a 4 star rating but the Lagacio mountain house deserves a 5+ rating. It is a true haven for the soul and is one of the best places in the world to recharge and reset. The food is prepared with such love and care. The rooms are quiet sanctuaries with the most beautiful beds. But the hidden gem of the Lagacio is Erika. ( in her 20s a group of rescue climbers invited her to hike with them, many hours later she found herself on the highest peak of Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Looking down at the other two peaks left a feeling so tremendous that she decided to devote her life to exploring the mountains) Erika’s insightful advice has lead us to remote moonscapes, lush alpine meadows, craggy, vertical cliffs, caves left by WWI soldiers, and paths where we, too felt the enormous power of place. The generosity of  locals like Erika transform a trip to an unforgettable experience. With our utmost respect and gratitude, the Geroux family

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to read that your stay did not meet your expectations.
It is all the more disappointing for us, as we usually receive very positive comments from our guests regarding our service, hospitality, and attention to detail. Nonetheless, we take your comments seriously and would like to clarify a few points with the utmost respect:

Regarding your request to change rooms, we would like to politely clarify that we did not state that the rooms were unavailable due to cleanliness. The rooms on the upper floors were fully booked at the time of your request. As for the rooms on the first floor, these had already been taken out of service at the end of the season and were therefore not available for guest use, even if they had already been cleaned. We regret if this was not clearly communicated or caused confusion.
Please rest assured that our team always strives to respond to guest requests with care and flexibility. We are very sorry if the interaction at reception did not reflect the warmth and attentiveness we are known for.
With regard to breakfast, we regret to hear that the service did not meet your expectations. Our breakfast team is usually praised for their friendly and efficient approach. We are also sorry that the private dining experience did not meet your personal taste. Our self-cook menu is created with passion and long-standing experience by our head chef and is typically very well received by our guests.
Furthermore, our spa team has continuously enhanced its level of service over time. 
Many of our staff members have been with us for many years and were even awarded the prestigious Michel Key distinction, in recognition of the hospitality and quality of service we provide.

First time back since our honeymoon ten years ago. We wanted this to be a 10-year anniversary celebration treat. It was such a let down. 

We stayed for 4 nights in total with a the stay being a trio of two halves. The first two days the staff and service was generally very good with the usual attention to detail. On our third night we had the arrival of guests above us. We could hear EVERYTHING they were saying and their stamping about kept us awake until gone 2am. I asked to change rooms for our final night but was told that there were no rooms available…the caveat being that there were on the first floor but that these were ‘clean’ rooms and so we couldn’t use them?! Our last night was spent waiting for those above us to go to bed before we could; around midnight in the end. 

The service I received from the receptionist was abysmal in regard to the issue I raised about the rooms. We paid a heck of a lot of money for this stay and it was ruined by her responses and the lack of empathy. Rooms WERE available and could have been used. 

The breakfast throughout was disordered and chaotic; the lady hosting got multiple orders wrong and was extremely abrupt. We stayed out of peak season and the service requirements were by no means overwhelming in the slightest. 

Finally the ‘private dining experience’ offered from their chef was over-priced and extremely bland. 

On a positive note (!) Andrea is a great asset to the hotel. A very positive and likeable guy. 

I can never see us wanting to come back here again and we feel really disappointed with how relatively poor the hotel is for the premium you are expected to pay.

We spent 4 nights at Lagacio and everything was perfect. The staff were all lovely and helpful and we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. The rooms were spacious and well thought out - larger than many a condo in Toronto! Breakfast was to die for. Beautiful buffet, or eggs from a menu and always a special of the day. Crepes one day, a soft boiled egg with spec another. Lovely lounge for a cocktail or glass of wine. Great massages in the spa. Shuttled to gondola daily and simply text for pickup. Restaurant recommendations and reservations made. Right in centre of town so walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Highly, highly recommended!

We spent a week in their larger apartment with a family of five. It was great! Fireplace, mountain views from the balcony, modern bathrooms and kitchen, even a private sauna. The breakfast was outstanding, as was the service overall, including concierge ski service. Worth the money!
