Travelled start of February for ski trip with my boyfriend. The mini bus transport to Borovets ski resort was amazing, it came very regularly and we have no complaints with that- it was amazing. It was also a nice, peaceful walk to the actual resort, it took about 15 minutes and was really beautiful. The food from the restaurant was one of the best foods from a hotel we’ve ever had- we ate better here than we usually do at home! Great selection for all taste buds, and the food from the bar was also very good. Drinks from the bar were good too, fast service and reasonably priced. Our room was on the third floor, which was quite a noisy floor. We had a lot of children next door to our room that were running up and down the corridor all hours of the night, screaming and crying, but other than that it was fairly quiet. our room was spacious and the beds were comfy. It came equipped with a hairdryer which was a bonus. The only complaint I have is the reception staff were quite rude at times and when we came to check out, the receptionist couldn’t check us out meaning we nearly missed our transfer back to the airport and she couldn’t have cared less that we nearly missed it. Overall though it was a great stay, and we would definitely return back.

Good hotel

Great hotel, clean and tidy. Comfy rooms. Buffet was really good for breakfast and evening meal.  à la cart menu was good and food was equally as good. Some staff on reception were a little rude or useless but other than that no complaints, bar staff and restaurant were good.

Great hotel with quick easy access to borovets

My fourth time to this hotel . You can’t fault it . Great food , huge variety , complimentary drinks throughout the evening Meal .
The facility’s have improved with a large outside jacuzzi and Finnish sauna , complementing the pool , steam room and well being areas .
A regular bus back and for to the slopes , which is also a pleasant walk .
The ski ing area cater s for all . At a fraction of the cost of French resorts . Your euro goes a long way in Borovets . Snow is snow

Great location away from the bustle of the main resort. The room was a decent size and the bathroom was clean and modern. Shower pressure was great and a bath is a handy addition for apres ski muscle soaks. My only slight criticism is that there's no tea/coffee making facilities available in the room, combined that with warnings that the tap water may not be safe to drink, made it difficult to stay hydrated after a day's skiing without going to the bar. We did however buy a large 5L bottle of water from the local Aldo which only cost 3 Euros. 

The spa facilities are great (highly recommend the outdoor sauna!) and there's a good spread of sauna and steam room options. 

We went half board and had no complaints at all with the food. Breakfast and dinner was always very varied and balanced. Half board at other places tends to be a bit 'beige' but I found there were great veg, carb and protein options. I probably ate more healthily than I usually do at home! 

The bar area with the fire is very chilled out and a nice spot to spend a few hours with a drink if you don't fancy the noisier apres options in town. Huge thanks to the barman Dimeter for making some the best hot toddies I've had outside of the Highlands of Scotland. I think that makes him an honorary Scot! With apologies if I've spelled his name wrong. These really helped wife and her developing cold. 😊

The transport into town is very good and we had no issues getting in with our ski gear. The hotel has plenty of storage for ski/snowboard gear and I didn't feel that we needed to use the lockers in the centre of Borovets. The bus drops you less than a few minutes from the lifts so it's an easy walk.

Perfect for a quieter option away from the main resort.

Great location, large rooms, comfortable beds, good shower.
The hotel is in the middle of the forest about a fifteen minute walk from Borovets centre. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to and from the centre which runs every ten minutes but  we preferred to shuttle bus to the slopes and walk back to the hotel. 
We stayed full board for a week in January.
Food:
Breakfast: Hot and cold options including bacon, sausage etc and a good selection of fruits and yoghurt.
inner: The buffet menu changed each night. It was meat heavy with normally two or three meat options per night and one fish option. Although nice, we found the food a little bland at times. Soups, pasta and salads were also available each night. The salad options were very good. Local wine and beer were included with the meal.  
Bedroom: Spacious and comfortable. with enough room for storage. Good water pressure. No safe in room. Not enough English TV channels!
Facilities: Swimming pool, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi were well maintained. Didn't use the gym. NO ski lockers!! This was a disappointment! We didn't leave our equipment in the boot room as it was never locked. We kept our gear in town. 
Staff: Very friendly and helpful
Overall: A nice hotel in a great location. Worth checking out if you want to stay away from the town centre.

An early season ski trip to Borovets.

In one of the more peaceful spots of Borovetz at the Rila Mountain, the renovated Lion Hotel Borovetz offers an indoor pool and a free shuttle service to the lifts.Each hotel room features a TV, a minibar, a telephone and private bathroom with a bathtub.You can work off some excess energy in the fitness center or relax in the sauna.Fine cuisine is served in the Lion Hotel's 2 restaurants, including a traditional 'Mehana' where you could sample Bulgarian food and drinks. Alternatively, the many fireplaces of the lobby bar make for an inviting sight after a day out in the mountains.
