The hotel was a great find. Close to the slopes, lovely choice of breakfast and dinner, clean and lovely friendly staff.

As others have said, it would be nice to have a heated boot room and free tea and cake at 4pm when you come back in but it is a 3 star hotel so you can’t expect everything!

Regarding the buffet service, we regret that you experienced a lack of consistency in terms of replenishment and food temperature. A buffet should be maintained throughout the service period, and we will reinforce our procedures to ensure a smoother and more consistent experience.

Concerning the egg station, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will review the operation of this area with our team to ensure it functions correctly and meets guests’ expectations.

With regard to the restaurant service, we were surprised to read your comments, as our team is usually known for being welcoming, attentive and taking great care of our guests. Nevertheless, your feedback has been shared with the restaurant manager so that this point can be reviewed and service standards consistently upheld.

Regarding housekeeping, we would like to clarify that rooms may be serviced at any time up until 5:00 pm. That said, we understand your frustration and regret that this did not align with your expectations after a day on the slopes.

Access to the spa is optional and subject to an additional charge, which allows us to maintain a calm and high-quality wellness environment. We appreciate your understanding on this point.

Concerning check-out, our reception desk is staffed with two team members every day from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm in order to meet guest demand. At the time of your departure, the second team member may have been on a lunch break or assisting another guest. We also offer online check-out for guests who prefer not to stop at reception. When several guests wish to settle their bills at the same time, a short waiting time may occasionally occur.

Your feedback is valuable and helps us continue to improve our services. We sincerely hope that we may have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with the level of experience for which our hotel is known.

This hotel is comfortable, well decorated and looks rather cool, however it is let down by poor quality food and generally slow poor service. Ski/boot room is close to the slopes but there are no boot dryers. 

Leaving at 9am and returning to the hotel at 3pm my room had not been cleaned. You need to pay EUR10 for the SPA.

Unfortunately the food at the breakfast and dinner buffet is not particularly good quality and is let down by the fact that that there are always items missing which are not replaced quickly. Items are often cold (cold beans for breakfast, lukewarm warm scrambled eggs etc.) If you wait around for something to be refreshed then by the time it is  some other item will be missing. There is a desert cabinet with some nice cakes but once they are all gone it is not refreshed

For some reason one of the serving staff constantly fills the egg boiler with cold water so you cannot boil eggs. We boiled one for 12 minutes and it was still raw. The preprepared egg that we tried was also raw, possibly for the same reason. 

We were told you should turn up at 7pm or 8pm as this is when the food is refreshed, but this did not seem to be the case and in any case is not the way to run a buffet in a hotel.

The staff in the restaurant do not smile under any circumsances and are slow and inattentive. Plates are not cleared and tables are not made up quickly enough. At one point I asked a staff member to make up a table. All's they did was wipe the surface and then walked off and started something else. This would be ok except that they keep strict control of cutlery, napkins etc.

Checking out was slow as there was only 1 person on reception. I did mention the above comments to them. They said they were sorry. It would be a good place to stay on a B&B basis but I dont think this is an option.

Very pleased with Hotel Totem. The communal area for eating and around the bar is spacious and welcoming. There are funky touches with some of the artwork and furniture which gives the place a distinct character. The food was decent and service always helpful and friendly.
We stayed in a larger room with a balcony which was plenty spacious. Any smaller would have been a squeeze so I'd recommend paying more for a larger room.
You're on the snow just outside the hotel with the main gondola a minute's walk away.

Once again, our older gents ski club enjoyed the warm hospitality from the Totem team in Flaine. Apart from the hotel's superb location, the staff & management are exceptional. The food buffet is delicious everyday, with so much choice. The bar, restaurant , reception staff, & the in-house ski shop owner could not have been more welcoming, friendly & professional. I have stayed in many ski resort accommodations & this provides the perfect blend of good service and value for our January trip. Thank you Totem team.
