Here’s one for the families. La Norma is a charming mountain resort in the heart of the French Alps, overlooking the Vanoise massif and the upper Arc valley.
With over 70% of its 65km of pistes classified as easy or intermediate, this is a top stop for novices on the snow. There’s some amazing long runs that will help you get into your stride in no time. Want twice the fun? Get the joint ski pass for access to the Valfréjus ski area – that’s an extra 70km to play with. It’s a 30 minute drive if you have a car, or 45 mins using the bus service that operates between the two resorts.
For those who love walking, snowshoeing trails are marked out from the resort or join an organised hike to the Vanoise National Park – home to some amazing wildlife (ibex, chamois, and marmots). And to keep the kids away from mischief, you’ve got a snow garden and sledging area too!
Our score is based on resort data; it reflects current forecasts, not guaranteed snow quality, and applies to the ski area, not specific resorts. Conditions can change quickly.
