Best time to ski in Vail

Vail is not just a pretty face. With sky-high peaks reaching over 3,500 metres and over nine metres of snow each year, the pistes are prime from November to April. Plus, with over 300 days of sunshine, bluebird days are the norm here. Time to top up the goggle tan! The hardworking piste bashers groom over 6 km2 of runs each night, so earlybirds are in for a treat. First-tracks heaven! And if you're planning to enjoy a well-earned layday, our advice is to take it at the weekend - you'll be glad to avoid the influx of locals from nearby Denver.

Purpose-built in the 60s, Vail's Austrian-inspired architecture and Alpine charm boost its popularity. Beautiful tree-lined streets boast exclusive boutiques, galleries, fine dining and trendy bars. And with so much variety, the apres ski is what you make it.
