Its outside of Chamonix which is good as it gets you on your way with an easy walk from town. Shortens the next day on the Haute Route or Tour de Mont Blanc. Disadvantage is that you are outside of all the activity in Chamonix which is also fun. The night we stayed at the property, the next morning they were herding the sheep to pasture through the roundabout in front of the hotel. Very cool. Food is basic but very good. Kind of an old place and a bit "worn" but clean.

This is close to the trail, if you are hiking the Alps. Rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. They helped to find us a place to stay next night, as I made some wrong booking. Food was delicious and ambiance of the restaurant was very inviting.

Great place to stay on Haute Route

We staid at this hotel at the start of our 14day Walkers haute route walk. It was very pleasant. Our room was lovely and the food was fine. A good value for money located in the lovely town of Argentiere. A wonderful place for walkers/ hikers.

This looked cute and was promising with its quaint decor, but the room was depressing and filthy, with the towels looking like rags, the shower just sitting in the bottom of the bath, with notices about which way to face so it wouldn't leak downstairs, and nowhere near the communal toilet having hand washing facilities. We had a laugh about the stuffed animal in our room being chained to the bench via a big padlock, but it was just depressing. The breakfast was ok, and it was cheap, but that's about it.  Avoid....
