I had the pleasure of staying at the Braunbär Hotel in Wengen for my birthday weekend, and it was truly a wonderful experience from beginning to end.
The hotel is beautifully designed — incredibly cozy yet refined, with tasteful decoration that creates a warm alpine atmosphere without feeling traditional or heavy. Every detail seems thoughtfully curated.
The location is unbeatable, directly across from the cable car to the Jungfrau ski region, making it ideal for both winter sports and mountain lovers.
One of the highlights was the excellent breakfast buffet, offering a generous and high-quality selection to start the day perfectly.
What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the exceptional staff. The team is welcoming, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making guests feel at home.
I also loved the hotel’s unique concept — bookshelves filled with books throughout the property invite you to slow down, relax, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
The charming sauna hut with its outdoor lounge area and fireside was another standout feature — the perfect place to unwind after a day in the mountains.
Braunbär is a special place that combines style, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality. I could not have imagined a nicer setting for my birthday and will absolutely be returning.

Unforgettable weekend in the mountains

Ringgenberg, Bernese Oberland, Canton of Bern

Newly refurbished and stylish hotel, centrally located with easy access to the Mannlichen Cable Car and the train station.  The spa is excellent, with a super big swimming pool, steam room and outside sauna.  We had half board and enjoyed a four course meal from the a la carte menu every night, with daily specials to spice it up.  The rooms at the back are larger, some of the ones at the front are a bit small and can get noise from the street (although Wengen is a generally quiet resort).  All in all I would definitely recomment - clean, comfortable, stylish, friendly and a great location.

What an incredible spot to spend 4 days! The slopes were gorgeous, the snow was fresh and the staff at Braunbar were all there to help 24/7! We made good use of all the facilities whilst travelling with a 3 year old and never felt like we had nothing to do. Overall, it is somewhere I would HIGHLY recommend.

Lovely renovated Hotel and suer nice satff. Perfectly located by the main Cabin skilift. 
Suitable for families and breakfast especially is really good.
