Staff are friendly and helpful. The level of service and cleanliness are excellent. It was spotlessly clean and given the traditional style of the building and fittings is an achievement. Good value and choice of local wines on the menu and the hotel is traditional and cosy northern Italian style. The hotel rooms are a bit basic and would benefit from soundproofing of some kind, but it’s one of the issues I’ve found in most ski hotels. Great location too - close to Campo Smith and the ski bus stop and also a nice walk into town. Some of the rooms have good views of the mountains and pond. The food was very tasty and typical of the region (my only slight criticism would be that there sometimes wasn’t enough buffet anti-pasti when the dining room is full and it could do with being replenished, but that’s a minor thing). Loved our stay here and this would be our first choice hotel when in this area again.

We had a wonderful time at Ca Fiore and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. This is probably our 20th skiing holiday and our favourite as a couple. We would definitely return. 

Firstly, you will be hard pushed to find better value. Our ski package included half board and spa access, and was far cheaper than most others we could find in Italy/France/Austria. You do not feel like you’re having a cheap trip, it is nicer than several more expensive chalets or hotels. 

The location is superb - a very short (<5m) comfortable walk to the main ski lift, main bars and equipment hire. 

The staff at Ca Fiore were exceptional. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you to everyone - reception, bar, waiter and cleaning staff - you were all brilliant. 

Half board offers a tasty four course meal every night with a selection of 3 dishes from the primi/secundi plates, ensuring that the food is varied and freshly cooked. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and offered something for everyone - including yoghurt, fruit, pastries and bread, ham, cheese, eggs, cereal and a few cooked items. The only two things that slightly let down the food are that they only have one slow coffee machine (so there are sometimes big queues) and in the evening, the appetisers run out quickly leaving little choice for those who arrive after 7:45. (But these are not huge complaints! Even then, you leave stuffed). 

The spa facilities are clean and well maintained. The hotel offers 3 hot tubs and a sauna, which are perfect after a day on the slopes. 

Rooms are typically alpine. They are basic but clean and comfortable. We had read some reviews that complained about temperature, but we had no issues. The one downside is the walls are very thin - you can hear almost everything from adjoining rooms. But such is an older hotel, we were fine with earplugs. 

Skiing in Bardo is great for most levels. It is a small resort but quiet, with little in the way of queueing or fighting for piste space (apart from the weekend which was very busy). There are a fun selection of reds and blues, which provided more than enough for us (we are intermediate - advanced) but might be a little boring if you are very advanced and seeking difficult blacks and off-piste. 

Apres is a little limited in the resort. It was fine for a week as a couple but would not be enough for groups seeking a party. There are 3-4 bars, but they are mostly quiet except for the weekend. So long as you know this, you will love what Bardo and La Cafiore have to offer.
