Wow wow wow! This was such a wonderful hotel and I would give 6 stars if I could. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed by smiling faces and warm decor. The check in was so fast and easy I couldn't believe it. I was here with a group of 37 people so for the check in to be that swift was amazing. 

The rooms are lovely and well appointed. Personally I had a small single rooms which was perfect for me. Others in my group had larger rooms and really nice views. So there is lots of variety in the rooms. The housekeeping staff was efficient and kind. The beds were comfortable and the wifi was fast. 

The breakfast and dinners were outstanding. Loved the food so much. We had the same waiters every night and they were so sweet. We really became friends by the end of our week. 

The hotel overall had a very warm and inviting feel. So much attention to the detail and  decor. Fireplaces for comfort, lots of sitting areas to relax. Classic Austrian wood carved ceilings. The wellness area was gorgeous with a huge indoor pool and multiple saunas. I had a massage which was top notch. Only complaint is that the jacuzzi is not hot compared to American standards. This is common in Europe though. But just saying this because its a point that people mention. 

Let me tell you about the ski room! Woohoo! Best ski room ever. Large lockers with heated boot dryers. Plenty of room to get dressed and prepared for the ski day. Its attached to a rental equipment shop which was so convenient AND all you do is go up a small escalator and you are at the gondola. So easy and seamless. 

I would absolutely return to this hotel and bring a group again. I think its perfect for singles, families, groups and more. Really something for Everyone. THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF FOR BEING SO WONDERFUL!

Thank you also for your constructive comment regarding the missing coat hooks in rooms 310 and 311. You are absolutely right – practical hanging space for ski gear is important, particularly in winter. In the course of recent refurbishments, the focus was placed on clean design lines and storage within wardrobes, but we fully understand that additional, easily accessible hooks would be helpful for ski clothing. We will bring that to the attention of Mr. Scheiber.

Your observation is very valuable, and we are already reviewing practical solutions that fit both function and design. We certainly do not want guests to feel they have nowhere convenient to hang their ski gear.

The hotel was absolutely amazing. The location could not be better. The food was exceptional. The staff were so friendly. The spa was top notch and we actually used it every day. The bar and lounge areas so relaxing and extensive, even the toilets were stunning!
We have never seen a boot room like it so well done with the refurbishment. 
Our one issue was there was absolutely not one coat hook to hang our ski gear. We were in rooms 310 and 311. Not that big and bathroom on the tight side but in all our years of skiing we have at least had ski gear coat hooks. The only place to hang stuff was in the wardrobe with your evening clothes.
Can the management please explain why there are no hooks? Having to lay our ski clothes on the floor due to literally having nowhere to hang them considering the price we were paying beggars belief. This is an observation rather than a complaint as we will certainly be going back. We had a fantastic holiday and can highly recommend the resort and definitely the hotel.

Stayed for a four night stay at this premises, excellent from the time of arrival. Staff  were excellent, food is excellent, rooms are excellent, could not fault it at all. Nice area excellent skiing and walking in the area.

This was our third stay at the hotel. The location is great with two ski lifts approx 10-20 metres from the escalator which takes you up from the boot room. 

The half board evening meal is very good and encourages you to try things you perhaps wouldn’t order in a restaurant. There are always a couple of options. I wouldn’t normally go half board at a hotel but given the quality it represents great value. Some of the portions are on the small size - think Michelin. We have been given the same table in dining room on each visit.

The pool, spa, sauna, gym facilities are excellent for a ski hotel. The bar is busy and located centrally just behind reception which probably helps. Would always prefer a busy bar.

Still find it difficult to book a room with a bath - don’t think they have many. Prefer South facing rooms although the Gaisberg room we had this year was behind an air handling unit so could hear a constant whine which was a bit annoying. The Spiegelkogel room was fine but they are quite small

I do like the feel of the hotel which is why we return even though the skiing in Obergurgl is not that challenging.

Fantastic experience overall, we stayed in connecting Edelweiss Suites over Christmas as a family of 4. In hindsight, we could probably have taken a less expensive option but one suite alone wouldn't have been big enough or afforded enough room for all the clothes and kit you need on a ski holiday. The staff were all exceptional - especially Roland our primary restaurant waiter. We appreciated our table assignment and enjoyed being in the same place each evening. The food selection was vast - the breakfast buffet especially being almost unbeatable. The evening food could perhaps have benefitted from a little more variety but nothing was too much trouble and alternatives were always offered. The location was perfect, so many reviews have referenced the superb boot room and access to the slopes - I'm not sure how these could be bettered anywhere. The spa facilities are fantastic, especially the number of different sauna and steam options. There was a wonderful, friendly, almost family feel to the hotel. We loved seeing everyone dressed in their Austrian finery on Christmas Eve especially - although we did feel a little underdressed. Thank you to the Schieber family for the free drinks!
Points for improvement - the reception doesn't seem to be manned 24/7 - there was nobody to help us with all our cases on checkout day at 6.30am and the breakfast takeaway wasn't given for our room. It wasn't clear how to book the fondue restaurant and it was fully booked for every evening when we enquired on the first day. At c13,000 euros for a family of 4 for a week it was definitely punchy but we could have opted for a cheaper room option and it was an amazing stay - thank you!
