We were a group of 7 staying in the chalet and had it single occupancy as the chalet wasn't filled.

First and foremost our chalet hosts Luke and Leah were incredible and went out of their way to see us well looked after.

The chalet is in an incredible location. Its about a 10 metre walk from the chalets to the Bruyeres gondola, from the top of which you can get anywhere is Les Menuires, and ski straight into VT or Meribel. You can also ski home down an easy blue literally to the door. 

The chalet rooms are a good size compared to others and are simply but well kitted out, and all have an en suite with a proper shower cubicle. Each chalet has its own boot room with boot warmers. Unfortunately there is nowhere to sit though and boots aren't allowed in the chalet: queue 12 people all trying not to fall over into each other in the morning. Big oversight in my opinion. 

The communal areas in the chalet are very small. It was fine for us in a half filled chalet but I've no idea how the lounge would fit 14 people or how you would get that many up the dining table!

The chalet has its own hot tub on the balcony which is a massive bonus for the end of the day. Unfortunately they don't stay hot uncovered for long and there is only really room for about 5 adults at any one time. Another negative is that the chalet hosts have to change the water weekly, and this has to be done on a Friday afternoon so that it warms up in time for new guests arriving the following day, which means you can't use it on the last day of your trip which is disappointing.

The food is of good quality (proper french bread) and plentiful and the wine was reasonable. We lucked out because our host Luke was an actual chef prior to doing this! The wine changed with each meal showing a little though had gone into it and it was by the bottle - not in big boxes like some other providers. 

One big negative was ski amis' honesty bar that they enforce on you and its ridiculous rigidity. You can't drink your own beer and wine in the chalet and have to use the honesty bar (what if you want better or different beer or wine?). They charge 1.50 for a stubby beer which is 50 cents in the shop 2 minutes away, which stings a bit. They also only provide 24 beers at a time. When the beers run out you have to pay up to get the fridge refilled. It was ok for us as we were all a group but still incredibly frustrating scrambling around for the money off of everyone: if you're going to make me pay 3x the cost for a beer at least make it convenient! Also what do you do if you're sharing with strangers and the beer runs out and you want one - go round knocking on everyones door asking for them to pay up so you can have a beer? They claim it's a licensing issue however it's odd that other chalet providers don't have to same rules.

My husband and I were in this chalet during the 'week in question'  (see immediate reviews below) We had absolutely no issues with Imogen and Ruben, our young hosts. They are a lovely young couple who were extremely attentive and obliging.  We would have absolutely no concerns if returning to be looked after by them.  

We did, however, have an issue with Ski Amis.  We had booked their 'flexi' transfer and understood that we might have to spend some time in the airport to allow them to hook up with other flights.  On our outward journey to Geneva, we waited around 45 minutes for their next flight to arrive.  This was perfectly acceptable. However, on our homeward journey, we were due to fly at 15.55 and were very disappointed to find that we had to leave the chalet at 8.30. We considered this very unacceptable.  We did question the resort manager only to be told that nothing could be done.

I was in the chalet the same week as the 'SkiAmis needs to improve' comment and the review is grossly unfair. Yes the couple were shy but they were very welcoming and the food was good home cooked cuisine . If you're looking for a high end menu then you can pay for through the nose for it. If you want good quality home cooked food then you won't be disappointed. I've stayed in far more expensive chalets which have had inferior cakes at afternoon tea.
On the second night the jacuzzi did break but the staff spent an hour or so filling it up with boiling water from a kettle and a large saucepan which I felt was going above and beyond. Unfortunately the guests who had complained had already gone out by this point.
I personally never had an issue with the time breakfast was served (although I think a customised full English for guests arriving at potentially different times is an unnecessary burden for a couple and this could be streamlined by management ).
This was the first time i've used Ski Amis and all in all we had a great week and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Location couldn't be better and the staff were all very friendly. What more could you ask for!

My husband and I spent one week snowboarding around the three valleys with Chalet Flora as our base the second week of January at the same time as the two star review below.  The week was definitely up there as one of the best snowboarding weeks we have ever had.  The location of the chalet is excellent to explore Val Thoren, Corcheval, Meribell.  The chalet hosts Imogen and Reuben, were excellent - friendly, helpful and  homely.  The meals were 
lovely - from breakfasts to afternoon tea and dinner - we couldn't have been more satisfied.  We had a great time, thanks Imo and Reuben!

1 Week Snowboarding Holiday

First time with Ski Amis after staying with lots of other companies. Very friendly staff, rooms a good size compared to most chalets and the food cooked for us was very nice, my waistline will testify to this. nothing was too much trouble if we wanted anything. 

Stayed in chalet Flora and chalet Estelle in Les Menuires which was a perfect location, ski to door and right by the main lift to the top of the mountain. Would definitely recommend for the price, food, staff and location.

Snowboarding holiday for 3 weeks
