Shadow Ridge

Park City

Shadow Ridge condos are individually owned, which means there can be significant differences between the units. We booked what we thought was the nicest unit, but when we got here we were informed that our chosen lodging was no longer available. Instead they had moved us into unit 113. 113 is nasty. It has been built in such a way that you could maximize the people and easily fit 12 to 15 in a two bedroom unit. Thats what makes this so gross is that it has had a ton of traffic over the years, the carpet is stained the furniture is stained. They’ve also locked most of the cabinets in the kitchen. There’s not even a spatula to use. There are pieces of furniture with padlocks on them.  If you want to go to a place and feel gross and unworthy, this is it you have found it. Or you miss your old fraternity house? You’ll feel right at home. Yuk. 
No ice maker. Kitchen facet is broken, burnt out light in bedroom 2. Mold in the humidifier, carpet is so worn that it’s bunched up in places. We wouldn’t have checked in at all if not from being exhausted from skiing. We booked another place and lefter after a single night.

Nasty

We booked this place through Epic Pass and this was part of our package. 

The location of this place is outstanding - literally a 3 minute walk to the bottom of three main lifts (as opposed to the one lift at the town base). The bus stop that can take you into town is a 2 minute walk away, and the buses are free and run every few minutes. 

The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, albeit slightly older style - this is really no issue though when you’re skiing all day. 

Great to have a pool, sauna, hot tub and laundry service. Very underrated!! 

I would certainly stay here again if we returned.

Great location!

The room was perfect, wood burning fire place, well equipped kitchen, and plenty of space. The location to the mountain was key, just a quick walk through the parking lot and you have the choice of three lifts to take. Highly recommend and would stay there again.

Great Location!

We wanted to stay up in Park City with family for the weekend.  We found this place and fell in love with the photos of the room that was advertised.   When we showed up, we were presented with something completely different!   It was definitely not what we expected.   The pool, hot tub, and parking were great.  The Sauna was broken.   The staff is only there until 6-8pm at night.   You have to wait for someone to show up from who knows where, to bring you extra sheets or whatever you may need.

Not what it seems

Covid will date this review. But if you simply want to take the family skiing, especially first time testing out PC, then this may be the most ideal choice. Upgrade to the rooms with a kitchen. Market is 10 minute walk. Ski rental on premises is not simply the least expensive but great people!  Test your gear the afternoon before skiing. Pick up in the morning and walk out the side door, across the parking lot and you are on the beginner hill. Order in to minimize social contact but everyone in PC wears a mask everywhere (except the bars on Main). 20 min walk to old town for a great collection of restaurants ( make reservations!). Some rooms are in the process of renovation. Little ones enjoyed the pull out sofa. Check in/out process should be the model for every hotel which is a simple app for instructions and pick up envelope in lobby. Pool is super tiny. We avoided amenities due to Covid.
