Kor-i-Nor has the best restaurant, Diamant Noir, with Chef Éric Samson! His food is the most artistic, and most beautiful presentation and delicious food anywhere! The service at Kor-i-Nor is the best, treating you like family. The skiing is the best in the world! I would most certainly want to go back! I travel all the time due to owning Riverdale Travel, so I feel that I can give the perfect review, plus I have been skiing since I was 2, and I am now 66! Kor-i-Nor, I love you!

This is my second stay at Koh I Nor, I had hoped the problems would be resolved but unfortunately this was not the case. 

I give it 2* because the location is fantastic for ski in/out, the hotel is beautiful and cozy, and it's very convenient to have the ski shop on site. The spa treatments are excellent, Peggy the woman who runs it is very personable and professional. 

The biggest problem is the overall lack of competency of the staff, especially in the restaurants'. They are very sweet, but spectacularly inefficient and lost, which leads to errors, delays, and complications. We were on half-board, and dined at both L'Atelier and La Cave, and had to sign off on the drinks after each meal. Every night the bill had errors and extra charges. Sometimes we were charged for the entire meal despite being on halfboard, other times we were billed for the incorrect and more expensive wine, we were charged for drinks that weren't served, etc. If you do not meticulously check your bill, you will be charged for additional and more expensive items. 

The personnel lack training and experience, though I recognized some of the staff from the previous year. They would run around looking busy, but not actually do what was needed. I saw several tables/guests get up to ask for service or the items that hadn't been delivered. Basic requests for cutlery, a carafe of water, another glass of wine, olive oil, etc, were only fulfilled after repeat attempts. 

It was to the point where we dreaded going to dinner (breakfast was a bit easier since it's buffet) and we felt very uncomfortable each evening. This incompetence and inefficiency seems to be limited to the restaurants at Koh i Nor. When we lunched or dined at other mountain restaurants, including busy/popular ones in VT and Courchevel, we always experienced professional, capable, and very friendly service. It was exhausting and my comments to the manager yielded no change.

Other negatives: cleaning staff taking towels and not replacing with new ones, not respecting "do not disturb" signs, staff not promoting or knowing about the activities in town. We were there for Christmas and there was a torchlit downhill by the instructors and fireworks on the 24th. None of the staff knew what time or where it would take place, nor did they make any effort to find out. 

And finally the Wi-Fi is awful - you are made to reconnect every single time you stop browsing, which was tedious.

I will not repeat or recommend this hotel.

Very disappointing stay – not 5-star by any standard

My wife and I arrived at this hotel with high expectations, but unfortunately our stay was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

On arrival, staff were unhelpful and failed to clearly explain basic procedures and protocols. We hired skis through the hotel, only to discover they had not been serviced. As a result, my first day of skiing was significantly affected due to poor equipment.

My wife left a £400 cap in the boot room, which was missing when we returned. We reported this immediately, but staff offered no assistance or follow-up. Security throughout the hotel appears minimal, which made us uncomfortable for the remainder of our stay.

I was later locked out of the safe in our apartment, and the receptionist on duty was unable to resolve the issue. Because of this, I felt forced to hide personal belongings in the room, which is unacceptable for a property claiming to be five-star.

Noise was another major issue. We were repeatedly kept awake until around 2:45am due to a loud argument in the apartment above us. The reception desk closes around 8pm, leaving no staff on-site overnight to deal with disturbances or emergencies.

Additional problems included:
	•	Items (water and eggs) left outside our room by friends being stolen
	•	A spa treatment booking being wrongly given to another guest
	•	Being offered spa access as compensation, then incorrectly charged for it
	•	Being charged for breakfast for two children on two separate days (we do not have children)
	•	Part of our accommodation costs being added to a friend’s invoice, which I then had to repay

The gym facilities were also poor, with equipment either limited or not working. The boot room is a considerable walk from the so-called ski-in/ski-out access, which is misleading.

Finally, I was told I would receive a €500 deposit refund, which has still not been returned.

This hotel markets itself as five-star, but in reality it operates at a three-star level at best. Poor organisation, lack of security, billing errors, and unresponsive staff made this a very frustrating experience.

I strongly recommend checking your bill carefully and would not stay here again.
