Stayed as part of a group.

The good:
Ski in ski but a little removed from the main lifts, if you like to be first to the top.
We'll heated, cold.
Sauna good, almost new. 
The ski total chalet hosts (Louis and Charlie) were excellent, friendly, accommodating and worked hard. 
Alpe-d'Huez is a good resort with something for everyone.

The improvements:
The chalet is generally in need of a lot of tlc and repair, there were light bulbs not working, the front door lock was broken, leaving just the boot room for entry (wet socks! The loo flushes were half broken (sticking up and had to be pulled).
The ski total rep (Ollie) didn't really spend much time with the group except a 15 min welcome and booking the meal out, I'm not sure he was necessary to our experience at all. 

Whilst the chalet reps did the best with the menu and ingredients ski total gave them. The dinners weren't great, most of the meat and fish was frozen and defrosted... Especially noticeable with the fish dish. However the fresh cakes and breakfasts were good.

Would not stay again unless the chalet undergoes repair but would absolutely have our hosts again and go back to l'Alpe-d'Huez as a resort.

We stayed at Vieux Logis with Ski Total at the end of March '18.

The accommodation at first glance as we checked in looked great, but the more time we spent there, the more evidence of use and deterioration was apparent. The sauna however was still in great condition (although if planning on using, budget 40mins for it to warm up)

We found the floors to be extremely squeaky (room 8) and was concerned for the people staying below. 

However, our issue was the mouse that moved in mid-week. Cute as he was, he made sleeping difficult and we were concerned for the hygiene of our items in our room and bathroom.

The chalet is ski-in, sadly for us there had been an issue with the Eclose lift, and so ski-out wasn't possible. The lifts generally are pretty poor and slow. We made it up the "yoghurt pots" (lifts from bottom of resort near the chalet to one of the main lifts - took around 10-15mins) to the go up the main DMC lift as it opened (9am). This was as Le Sarenne (Europe's longest black) had been pisted overnight and we wanted an early run on it. Despite getting first lift, we didn't get to the very top for 45mins to be able to start skiing. The Bergers lift, which would need to be taken after Eclose (if it was open) was also painfully slow, and I'd imagine Eclose would have been as well. In all the resort could do with spending several €mil to improve their infrastructure.
