Lovely stay at hotel Madeleine, I would ignore the negative remarks from some of the guests I think they moan for the sake of moaning to get a refund. Me and my wife had a great week, the hotel is about 2 hundred yards from 2 gondolas that take you most of the way up the mountain, the descent is steep in a few places for beginners also the pistes do get a bit slippery towards the middle of the day, other than that perfect.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are cleaned every day, the bathroom has a brilliant shower and big bath with plenty of fast running water. there’s a small kettle in the room, you get 4 tea bags, sugar 4 milk cartons each day to use in your room ( I wish I had brought a small Nescafé tin with me as the prices in the local Spar are a bit steep for Everything). The food that you get supplied with is very good usually. 4 coarse meal, with cheese and biscuit’s afterwords ( way to much good food ) I think we must of put on a stone each) the drinks aren’t cheap and the water you have to pay for which is expensive €6 for a little glass bottle also the coffee after 5 you have to pay for.🤦.the staff that work there are very curtious, with genuine smiles. We did find the rooms had very dry air in them over night, so i would suggest taking some lipsol.

I really couldn’t fault our stay at the Madeleine Hotel from the moment we arrived. 
Firstly, the location is a short walk from the ski lifts with easy access to the slopes and a shuttle bus to Solden.
The hotel itself - the rooms are very clean, very comfortable and have plenty of storage; the food in the restaurant is amazing with a really great choice for breakfast and dinner but best of all are the managers and staff who looked after us. They are so helpful and friendly and you can’t help but feel comfortable and relaxed. One of our party broke her leg early in the holiday and they really couldn’t do enough for her, they were absolutely brilliant.
I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a great hotel in Obergurgl

Amazing hotel!

Superb hotel, food excellent and varied choices, served in a pleasant dinning room by friendly staff such as Locco and his girlfriend, sadly never met the chef to thank him/ her.
Bar area is small but comfortable with a real fire, drinks fairly priced too. Our room was kept so clean and it had all you need, plenty hanging space and hooks for ski gear. The boot room was the poshest I have ever used!
Only one negative to feedback is the hard to comprehend practice of charging €3,80 per bottle of tap water with meals … if this is a local government rule the hotel would be best to say so, if it is the hotel rule then I suggest a re think is made.

Excellent Hotel- Ski location

What a fantastic place, nothing is too much, the team work so hard, clean, comfy, excellent food, just fantastic. 
Guest, well, not so good. Despite the sauna area clearly signing NO MOBILE PHONES. Disrespectful types ignore people's privacy. The jacuzzi is treated like a kids pool, they take food into the jacuzzi and throw cups around, I haven't seen anything like this ever. The sauna is clearly signed as for 'no sweaty clothes' this is normal, who on earth has so much disrespect to wear sweaty costumes when the guidance at the entrance to the sauna tells guests to not do this. So, if there is one, only one improvement to the hotel it is to make the whole wellness area child and clothes free.  Otherwise the hotel is perfect.

Amazing team looking after you

We stayed in the Hotel Madeleine for a combined Christmas ’25 and ruby wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It was our tenth visit to Obergurgl since our honeymoon there. Over the years we’ve stayed at several hotels in Obergurgl, but only tried the Hotel Madeleine for the first time on our previous visit and now we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.  Why didn’t we try it before? - for many years the hotel looked like a single story building from the road and we had not realised that the hotel stretched down the hill at the back so we’d always had the impression that it was just a restaurant. How wrong we were - it was like the metaphorical iceberg with only the smaller top part visible! Our well appointed comfortable suite had plenty of storage and a safe. Our balcony looked out over the valley and mountains beyond. The hotel has no formal dress code and there is no pretentiousness whatsoever, which made our stay there a very calming affair.  Furthermore the staff and all the guests we met there were friendly which added to the enjoyment of our stay. It is a most relaxed and delightful place to stay. I have added some photos of the food, which was superb, plentiful and irresistible, as my waistline will testify. All in all I can’t recommend the Hotel Madeleine highly enough.
