This was the second year i planned to go back to Rolland. We had booked 4 rooms and paid €375 as advance. Due to the corona crisis i unfortunately had to cancel but after 8 emails over 3 month period, never got a receipt for the cancellation.
This ofcourse meant I couldn’t get my insurance to reimburse me.
It is a nice decent hotel, else i wouldn’t be returning with 6 other friends, but this despicable behavior of the owner has put me off. 
In the time of this crisis i thought people help each other, but this lady Sigrun (owner) couldn’t even be bothered to give a receipt for the money paid. I suspect tax evasion, but who am i to judge..

My room was very small and poor, the shower was very poor,  missing hanger and many details are missing. Breakfast its not rich but very nice and good, but don't be the last otherwise you risk to find less food.

The position is in a very quite place . The owner is very friendly and helpfull.
TV is missing, but this can be a good thing.

My in-laws and I spent an amazing ski week in La Thuile, based in the Hotel Rolland. The hotel isn't too far from the centre so we walked everyday to the main cable car up to the slopes and often from the restaurants at night. The hotel itself is clean, facilities work, and the staff friendly and helpful. We also were provided a substantial breakfast each morning- perfect prep for a day skiing. Finally, the restaurant recommendations were great also so be sure to enquire about this. My only criticism is that the sound of thudding ski boots/people could be heard fairly easily between the walls/rooms so be careful of this if you are sensitive to noise. The price, for us, was really good so will definitely consider coming back for another ski adventure.

Warm atmosphere, staff super-helpful. Arrived there after a full day walk in the rain. Managed to dry clothes, they gave me a lift to restaurant and they pick me back at the end. Couldn't ask for more!

Not much has changed since our last visit. Breakfast introduced cooked eggs and we were on the top floor this time. Hospitality warm as ever. 
Highly recommended.
I noticed on one of the reviews mentioned a 5-7 min car ride if you are a skier, there are three ways round this. the Ski bus stop is about 1-2 min walk, if you walk a bit further (5-7 min) you can ski down to the lifts or you can do what we did hire a locker at any of the two ski hire places
