Booked the Schweizerhof  through Booking.Com. for three nights. On arrival the hotel seemed ok- it was clean and had a pretty typically Austrian style.  The bedroom was a reasonable size. We ate in the restaurant and the food was fine. So far so good - read on only if  you need a comfortable bed to sleep in. The bed in our room was rock hard and the linen of poor quality - one very flat fibre fill pillow each. Despite being really tired after our journey neither  my  husband or I managed to fall asleep. The next day I asked the owners daughter if anything could be done and was treated to a shrug. Suffice it to say that we decided to check out and were told in no uncertain terms that no refund could be made for the unused  two days b and b - As they had to pay Booking.com - well yes they did but only 5% of the money charged!  To add insult to injury we were also charged 12euros (3 days tourist tax) - we were told by the new hotel that we should have only been charged this for the one night we stayed.

Writing this makes me both sad and angry as  I love the Wildschonau and have visited many times and have always found the people to be fair-  and the beds to be really comfortable so this experience was really unexpected. Book by all means but dont expect any bed comfort or refunds because you wont get them.

Dont book unless you can sleep comfortably on a floor!

We only stayed one night but the rooms were very comfortable, with balcon . We arrived late , 22.00 but we're still able to have a meal. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food. Would definitely stay again. 

Excellent overnight stay

We went here with a family with children to have dinner. In our week in Austria it was the best we had! Very tasteful, salmon and pasta. The kids also loved it. Spaghetti, Schnitzel with french fries. The card has enough variety but not too much.  Everything on the card is chosen with care. Also the choice in wine is perfect. We paid all together €90,- for a wonderful diner.
