We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. the room was a bit worn, but the staff was really helpful. The breakfast was nice, and I especially want to highlight esther who truly stood out. She was warm, professional, and gave fantastic recommendations for wines and drinks that paired perfectly with the food. I would gladly stay here again!

Overall very happy!

Me and my friend ate at Tango Restaurant and waited over an hour for our food, and we finally got it some of it was wrong - plus the steak tartare was not eatable. Horrible experience. Furthermore the staff was lazy and wasn’t observant.

Horrible experience

I stayed in Room 008 at Hotel Tango in Val Thorens, booked via Crystal Ski. While there were some high points, the condition of the room and general maintenance left a lot to be desired.

The room itself had several significant functional issues that made the stay uncomfortable:
The fridge was non-functional, and the TV was broken with marks/lines running through the display.
The spotlights didn't work, and the hallway lights were frustratingly slow to respond. Most notably, the Wi-Fi signal did not reach the room, which is a major drawback.
We encountered cobwebs and significant dust in the bathroom and on the hanging rails. The pillows were very thin and definitely need replacing/supplementing.

The hallway frequently had a strong, unpleasant smell of drains, and there was a consistent loud noise that made it difficult to relax.

On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We raised our issues, but unfortunately, because the hotel was completely full, they were unable to move us to a different room.

The food was a "tale of two halves":
Dinner: Absolutely lush—easily the highlight of the stay.
Breakfast: Unfortunately quite mediocre and didn't live up to the standard set by the evening meal.

Summary: While the staff and evening dining were great, the lack of maintenance in Room 008 (no Wi-Fi, broken TV, drain smells) needs urgent attention. I would NEVER stay in this specific hotelagain until repairs are made, which is a shame as the staff were absolutely fantastic.

Lack of maintenance, funny smells but good food

I’m not usually one for writing reviews, but this hotel absolutely deserves one.

I was solo-parenting with my 6-year-old daughter and wanted to introduce her to the fun of the snow, so I chose to stay somewhere I’d been before. From arrival to departure, everything was simply fantastic.

The service was first-class across the board, and a huge shout-out goes to a few people who truly went above and beyond. Freya greeted us every day with the biggest smile, Philip and Novac made dinner a real highlight with their warmth and fun, and a massive thank you to top chef Theo for the outstanding, varied cuisine. He was especially wonderful with my daughter, taking such great care of her (very fussy!) dietary requirements and even making friends with her.

Thank you all for such a memorable stay.
