I have rated this 5 star based due to the cost that I paid to stay, location and cleanliness.  I stayed for 5 nights at the start of march with a friend.  We booked in as a relatively last minute ski trip and paid around £360 for two people including breakfast.

The pension itself is a little worn and very dated but the rooms are extremely clean, tidied every day and clean towels on arrival.  We had a room with a shared bathroom in the hall shared between 3 rooms.  It was fine, always kept spotlessly clean.  The room itself had been recently renovated and had a new shower and sink in it. 

Breakfast was served between 8am - 10am in the coffee shop next door, it was ham, cheese, bread, coffee/tea and orange juice. Couldn't fault anything about it.

We had a train departure at 2pm and when we mentioned this to the owner he told us to keep our room until we had to go which I thought was a lovely touch.

As for location, you are right smack in the middle of Zell Am See, just up the street from Crazy Daisy.

I will stay here again, amazing value for money and couldn't fault the staff.

Nice place, friendly reception and good breakfast. Value for money is superb. The pension is in the middle of town and the ski lift is easily reached by foot. I would definitly book this place again when visiting Zell am See.

This is my fourth time staying in Pension Buchner. The property is centrally located and very clean. The owner Andreas Buchner is always very helpful and friendly and will give you some great advice on how to make the most of your holiday. Breakfast is provided in the Seegassse restaurant next door and is the perfect start to your day. I will be returning to Pension Buchner next year.

Brilliant location right in the middle of the town, 5 min walk to City Express lift! Rooms are basic but extremely clean, nice breakfast in Seagasse cafe downstairs included! Andres the landlord is welcoming and very helpful!
