​Our family is just finishing a week-long stay at the Hotel Rauriserhof (booked through Crystal), and I can honestly say it has been one of the best ski holiday experiences we’ve ever had. Having stayed in ski hotels all over Europe, this one is now easily at the top of my list.

​The service here is second to none. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and professional.

Absolutely brilliant food. Every meal was a highlight of our day—the quality and variety are exceptional.

​We traveled with our baby daughter, and she had the absolute time of her life. The environment is incredibly welcoming for families.

​We opted for one of the unrenovated, more budget-friendly rooms. While it wasn't one of the newer suites, it was immaculate, cozy, and lovely. It’s a testament to the hotel that even their "standard" rooms are kept to such a high standard of cleanliness and comfort.
​
​If you are looking for a blend of traditional Austrian charm, incredible dining, and genuine warmth, look no further. We are already planning our return trip!

 A massive thank you to the Rießlegger-Mayr family and all the staff for looking after us so well. We hope to see you again soon!

An excellent hotel with an outstanding staff team. We were u usual in not being repeat visitors

We loved the outdoor heated pool, surrounded by snow with views of the mountains, which we used before breakfast and after skiing. The slopes are accessible via a short ski bus ride to the main gondola or a walk to the chair lift (10 minutes taken slowly in ski boots)

We enjoyed the wonderful food which was beautifully presented and served with a variety of wines available by the glass.
The village of Rauris has a fascinating history and we enjoyed exploring. The hotel offers included guided hikes and snow shoe walks and there was an opportunity to try cross country skiing. In spite of Kristian's best efforts this turned out not to be a sport for me!

As we offer different room categories in different price levels I would like to mention you would have had different booking options from the start. I would like to emphasize that we made an upgrade possible for you on site. I thought we could make you happy with it. We do not wish to comment further on your remarks about the quality of the cuisine. We are sorry if you could not enjoy the selection. As you can read in almost all other reviews, the cuisine is one of the reasons why guests keep coming back to us. We are very proud of the quality of our cuisine and our service. Because it also speaks to us as owners and hosts. We had the opportunity to speak with you almost every day. You never conveyed to us that there were other issues bothering you beyond the room change. We are a little surprised about that. With this, we wish you all the best! We visited with Crystal ski and ordered a "Superior" room to find that it had battered and tired decor; a tiny bathroom; broken glass on the shelf in the bathroom and the central heating and water pipes rattled badly and kept us awake. It was in the old tired part of the hotel. The balcony was from the ground floor room and was directly overlooking the car park.
Ultimately the owner, did indeed move us to a similar room in the New Part of the hotel which was much better.
The food menu shows 5 courses, but actually the first and second courses each night were simply Starter of baguette and a spread and second course Salad buffet.... these do not constitute two course and did not change all week. The other courses were acceptable but nothing out of the ordinary which would be expected in a 2 star hotel.
The drinks are very expensive and you could not order wine by the glass in the restaurant, so had to get it outside at the bar.... totally ridiculous..... they want you to buy an expensive bottle of wine!!!!
Children uncontrolled running up and down the restaurant and until late.
The children were noisy and unacceptable for the time of day.
The hotel is not 3 minutes from the nearest lift as stated, but Google shows it as 7 minutes walk and that is without skis.  The bus service is poor and runs only every half hour and finishes very early..... so be prepared to walk!!
The village itself is like a mortuary with little or no activity.
The owner was friendly but welcome very little from the hotel.
The ski area is very limited with a very old infrastructure system of lifts and the runs are badly assessed and marked.

Location, experience and the team make it a very special place. We’ve been visiting the Rauriserhof for almost 20 years now and each time is better than the last. A wonderful place!

Our best family holidays are at the Rauriserhof.

The Rauriserhof is a family run 4* hotel in the beautiful region "Salzburgerland" national park Hohe Tauern near Zell am See. The hotel offers 65 rooms in different categories. The hotel is open during summer and winter season. Guest find a wide range of possibilities in the hotel: *pool and spa area *tennis courts (indoor and outdoor) *bike rental service *guided hiking tours from monday to friday (summer and winter) *family packages Most of the guests book the half board arrangement and enjoy the wonderful breakfast buffet, the afternoon snack and the different menus and theme nights in the restaurant.
