We stayed at the Relais des Alpes as part of a package trip organised by Crystal over the 2025-26 New Year's Eve week. Based on the reviews we had read prior to arrival, our expectations were not high, however these fears were quickly allayed. The hotel is very pleasant; the desk staff all speak English and are extremely courteous and helpful. The hotel in general is in good condition and comfortable. The family room in which we stayed was laid out with a corridor to a large main twin room, a moderately sized toilet/bathroom with a shower, and a separate twin room for the children. There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, and the rooms were typically Italian with hard floors and rugs rather than carpet. The room décor is not modern, but perfectly acceptable and cleaned daily with fresh towels.
The primary revelation was the food, which according to the reviews was terrible; how wrong they were!  I can only assume these reviews were written by the pizza and chips brigade who would have been most disturbed by the traditional Italian cuisine which consisted of an antipasti buffet with a variety of hot and cold meats, shellfish, salad, etc. A primi piatti choice of two different pasta dishes freshly cooked by Paulo (top bloke!) on request in front of you, or a further pre-prepared pasta such as lasagne, or risotto dish, plus a soup dish. The secondi was a choice of two meat or fish dishes supplemented by a variety of potatoes and vegetables, and finished off with an assortment of desserts. My only advice would be to eat when the restaurant opens at 1930 because the staff cater for 200 covers and some people didn't hold back when it came to eating more than their share. 
Breakfast was an assortment of pastries, bread (and cake?!), plus the usual flavourless Eurobacon, beans and scrambled egg. Omelettes and fried eggs were freshly prepared by Paulo again, and very good fare.
The hotel sits alongside 'The Queen's Lounge' pub (an Irish bar) which is open until 0100 and can be quite loud. We were on the 4th floor (front facing) and were insulated from this, however friends on the 1st floor said that the noise was noticeable. There are far nicer bars and restaurants in the town, but it is easy if you just want a quick drink.
The hotel is a short walk from the town centre, but this in itself is a distance from the two ski lifts at the top of the town. The Clotes lift is nearest, and about 400m (all uphill) and the Sportina lift about 800m away. There is a bus service (Blue line) which departs and drops outside the hotel (timetable in the lobby), but you need to buy a separate ticket, either one way from the driver (2 Euros cash only), or a weekly pass for 10 Euros from the tourism office and which was a Godsend. 
There is a ski room (free) which has heated boot racks and central ski racks, however these are open racks and not lockers, although the room is locked overnight.
Overall I thoroughly recommend the Relais des Alpes and especially the half board option.

A Marvellous Stay!

I had a brilliant week here with a group of friends last week. Our group included five 5/6 year olds. The hotel is a bit old fashioned in terms of decor, but an excellent base for skiing. The food was great, a nice selection at breakfast and dinner. And there was always enough for fussy young children to find something to eat! I didn’t use the spa so can’t comment on that. There is a big games room in the hotel with sofas, tables and chairs. We used that most days for chill out time with the kids before dinner and it was very handy.

The nearest chairlift to the hotel is Clotes which is a short walk (albeit uphill). However, our kids were in ski school in Sportinia so we had to get to that chairlift every day, which is a good 15 minute walk up hill. It’s not a walk I would have wanted to do with equipment and kids so we booked ski storage at the top of the Sportinia lift (I would definitely recommend this) and bought a weekly pass for the ski bus, a shuttle service which goes from very near to the hotel. It saves the walk up the hill every morning, would recommend!

Great value hotel, good food, kid- friendly, convenient base.

I had read previous reviews and was a bit wary of noise at night from the pub/club below. However, we were not disturbed and even left a window slightly open at night.
The staff were just the best - smiling, accommodating, friendly, you do feel very welcome. 
Our room was quite small with 3 single beds and bathroom. It is functional and we were there to ski rather than hang out in the room. There was a large social room on another floor with sofas, TV etc but we never used it.
The spa room is great, 2 tubs, showers and a sauna. You have to book time slots so ideally do this in morning before you ski.
Breakfast - fantastic - so much choice from the buffet style setup. Hot food, chef waiting to make you omelette, cheese and hams, fruit, cereal and amazing croissants.
Dinner is just as good, again buffet style with hot food section that was different every night. We looked forward to this every day.
Restaurant staff were fab, always polite, never pushy and always happy to engage in conversation. 
I consider the price as amazing value, we booked through crystal ski for second week in Jan 26 and price was £3150 for 7 nights for above including flights, transfer, ski hire, helmets and ski passes for the whole vialattea for 3 people.
Most nights we had cocktails (understated but really tasty) in a cocktail bar just around the corner and walking back after skiing at the end of the day we had a pre-dinner pizza slice from "Pizza House" - it tastes soooo good.
I would love to go back there, the only change I would make if I could would to have a bigger room (as there were 3 of us)  but this really was quite low on the priority list.

Lovely food and lovely staff, very well located near the Clotes lift, heated boot room.

Unfortunately terrible sleep all week, thumping loud music non-stop until 1am every night from the Derby Bar and you can hear absolutely everything from the rooms either side and above, I was almost in tears I was so tired and frustrated with being unable to get a good night’s sleep. Bring earplugs.

We visited this hotel in Feb ‘25 on our annual ski holiday. The hotel was all you could really ask for from a ski hotel, the hotel was nestled in the town of Sauze and not too far from the chairlift (it was approx 10/15 min walk). We paid to keep our skis at the chairlift station as it was at the top of a very steep hill (the village in general is on the slope as well) which I would say was money well spent. 

The hotel itself was clean, friendly and in a good location for bars / restaurants in Sauze - everything is walkable. 

At the bottom of the hotel there is a lively bar which was quite good when you wanted some end of the night drinks / drinks after a day on the slopes! I noted beforehand the comments about how loud his bar was and could be heard from the rooms - in reality this bar was quite loud but it did not disturb our sleep - there was one night (I think karaoke) where it did go on pretty late but it only woke myself not my partner. I would simply recommend taking earplugs if you are a light sleeper. 

The hotel also has a sauna / jacuzzi area which you simply had to book beforehand which we never had an issue with. 

I would not let the noise from the bar downstairs stop you from booking this hotel as it was good value for money & the half board option was also good with a wide selection of choices to chose from. The staff in the restaurant were so friendly greeting you of a morning, after skiing and at dinner. Most evenings they had an authentic Italian traybake to choose from (along with lots of other options) & also the dessert spread was 10/10!
