This was my third visit to Zell am See, but first time in Hotel Salzburgerhof. I chose this hotel because I was visiting with my mother who would not be skiing and so needed somewhere comfortable and equipped with spa and sauna etc. 
I don’t often leave reviews but both my mother and I feel compelled to wax lyrical about how good this hotel is. From helping with enquiries before arrival (hiker lift pass, accessible mountain restaurants for non-skiers, spa treatments) to check in and the stay itself the staff here could not do enough for us, but somehow found the balance of not being intrusive or over the top. They were just there, needing only a glance in their direction to get attention. The room we had was a suite and while the shower could do with a bit of a refresh (I’m being really picky here) overall the room was excellent. 
Half board is one of the best we’ve had, with a small menu lunch also being offered and the evening meals were superb. I don’t do breakfast but my mother thoroughly enjoyed hers and particularly complimented the omelettes. 
Location is great, and the leisure facilities were incredible. Choice of about 6 saunas and steam rooms, wonderful outdoor pool, plenty of relaxation areas and the spa treatment team were super helpful. We did the Indoceane Spa Ritual which was fabulous, would recommend even if as a Brit the overall level of nudity was disconcerting. 
Ski facilities were fine, reasonable locker room and this is not a piste review, but the ski circus area has enough for most ability skiers. 
The main thing I’d like to say is that my mother had never done an alpine/winter holiday before and was incredibly apprehensive, while I have never been on holiday with her when I would be out most of the day so she would be alone so I was similarly apprehensive. The hotel looked after her perfectly, and in fact it’s now rated one of the best holidays she’s ever had. We will be back next year. Thank you to all at this family run gem of a hotel!

Superb quietly classy hotel!

Wonderful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Ambience great with some enjoyable entertainment on most nights whilst dining. Short walk to ski lift although there was a hotel shuttle bus and close to lake. All rooms individually furnished, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Choice of two swimming pools including a heated outdoor pool which was just fabulous. Loved every moment - thank you for a memorable stay.
