Very nice stay, apartment was lovely, modern and clean.

We had our own sauna which my husband appreciated, I’m more of a steam room fan.

We stayed here with the Canterbury package which was magical but sooo tiring, we would defiantly come back but for longer and sort our own activities so it’s not so full on.  The picture iv added of my son falling asleep awkwardly in a chair awaiting his husky ride about sums it up 😂

I can’t even describe the feeling of staying here, walking up to mountains of snow and being on a ski resort, the restaurant cabin had gorgeous food, you did struggle for a table at times though, the breakfast inside the resort itself (you eat elsewhere for breakfast) there were plenty of tables and the selection of food was vast, I loved the porridge.

It was nice having all their traditional food which were tasty, filling and warm which is what you need and crave with all the snow.

The apartment was a great home from home, you need to drink the tap water, the best ever and so cold! The apartment had everything you needed and our boys lived the high rise bunk bed that easily sleeped 2 children, the tv was a disappoint, I think there was only one English Channel but fortunately the wifi was good.

Also we didn’t find out until we left on the coach home that from that hotel you could get a ski lift right into Ruka village! We were gutted we missed this so would defiantly do it next time! 

Don’t hesitate about booking here, great location, rooms and food, very luxurious.

Booked to go to Ruka as a last minute decision on skiing as we weren't sure where to go this year and wanted somewhere a little different to the usual Apres ski led resorts and wow did we make a great decision!!
Ruka Village was perfect for myself and my 2 grown up sons and had everything we could have wanted right on our doorstep!
The apartment was a 2 bed a very spacious, had great cooking facilities and 2 large bedrooms along with all the things above and beyond what we could need (dishwasher/washing machine) and of course the compulsory sauna in the bathroom!
It's less than a 2 minute walk to the lifts and right in the heart of a lovely ski resort that is more about good eating than heavy drinking and that suited us this year!
The ski area is smaller than most european resorts but has quiet lifts and very well kept slopes that make the experience just as enjoyable, and with the ability to easily head back to the apartment for lunch and a sauna and then head back out as the slopes don't close until 7pm we had the most incredible relaxing ski break we have ever had!
Ruka village has everything and we will be returning to experience once again the beauty of Finland!

Everything we could have wanted in a ski trip, and then some!

Arrived for our Christmas stay on December 22nd. Arrived to friendly reception staff welcoming us and asking us to drop our bags to our rooms as the restaurant had stayed open for us as we were a late arrival. This was unexpected but very much needed. The food in the camp restaurant was delicious. Most nights is a varied buffet with something for everyone. The staff were all very professional and helpful and you can order from menu at an additional cost, should the buffet choices not suit. 

Rooms are a good size, comfy beds and sauna. The kitchen has good facilities. 

The hotel has a small supermarket onsite. 

The hotel is situated right next door to the ski hire shop and is at the base of the rusa and Rudolph family park. You couldn't be closer to the slopes so no dragging your kids along reluctantly in their ski boots. 

Whilst here, I sadly left our passports on the coach transfer. The hotel staff, in particular Eva, have been amazing in helping. They called the police, coach company, airport and helped secure additional accommodation when I had to arrange due to needing emergency travel documents. Sadly, my holiday company (tui) didn't help at all. Thanks heavens for this brilliant hotel and all their helpful staff!

We had a brilliant stay at the Ruka Valley Apartments with Crystal Holidays! We stayed in a family studio which was an ideal size for a family of 4 and had everything we needed for our self catering holiday. We loved being so close to the slopes and having our own ski locker outside the door. We also found the drying cabinet really handy too. The accommodation is finished to a really lovely standard, the beds were very comfy and we loved having our own sauna to warm up after a long days skiing! The staff were very friendly and helped us book taxis for our trip to Lammintupa Winter Village where we did husky sledging and snow mobiles for the children. Ruka Valley was much quieter than the village side which we really liked but it's easy enough to hop on the Gondola to visit Ruka Village where there are lots more bars and restaurants and a bigger grocery shop. There is a shop on the valley side which stocked most things you would need but there was a little more choice in the village shop. Ruka Valley is ideal for families and beginners as it is located by the nursery slope and the family park. We had two lovely meals in the Camp Kitchen and Bar which is within the same building. The staff were very attentive and the food was delicious! We fell in love with Ruka Valley and would love to return again soon for another amazing holiday in a winter wonderland!
