Stayed in Room 303 in August 2024. The check in experience was straightforward, she was very friendly and chatty. She did need to explain the key routine a few times to me (didn't help that I had arrived on one hour of sleep!).
It was quite difficult getting the luggage up to the third floor but I was aware there was not a lift.
The room had everything I needed for my first solo travel experience - a shower, toilet, bed, table, chairs and lockable wardrobe. When you come to somewhere as beautiful as Switzerland you spend most of the time outside anyway!
The funniest thing was arriving and laying on the bed exhausted and then seeing a cable car whizz by! The view out the window was the best I've ever seen.
Yes the room/building creaks slightly, but it adds to the charm of the place. Also be aware that the church bells ring a fair bit, but you get used to them.
All the neighbours I had acted very respectfully and there were no issues.
Breakfast is a buffet between 7:30 to 9:30am. The only disappointment I had was arriving to breakfast on the second morning and being told my name wasn't highlighted for breakfast. I explained I had paid for breakfast every morning. No one was on reception to sort the issue out. I ended up emailing the hotel who apologised and they confirmed the issue would not happen again.
Also reception is not manned much and the check-in window is very tight, I think it was 2pm to 6pm. I had to get four trains from Geneva and was worried that I wasn't going to arrive on time.
Apart from that, I would recommend a visit here, I think it's great especially for solo travellers too. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We have to check in by 6 p.m. (Late check-in is subject to a fee). The hotel is conveniently situated just a short 5 to 7-minute walk from the station and a 2-minute walk to Mannlichen cable station.  We had a room with a small attached bathroom, but not all rooms have a private bathroom, so please check before making a reservation. Breakfast is charged and must be reserved one day in advance. It is highly recommended to book breakfast since all restaurants open after noon. The basement has a kitchenette and a place to store luggage. 
It should be noted that the hotel is an old building without an elevator, so carrying large bags would be difficult.

Fantastic Stay

Wonderful traditional old Swiss Hotel.  I had a single room, bed was very comfortable and spacious. I slept very well.  Instant hot running water in the shower.    Heating perfect and able to adjust to suit.  Continental breakfast was great, so much variety to choose from and always fresh.  
Crocs provided in each room to wear to the ski room if required.  Good ski equipment storage area.  All the staff were lovely and friendly.  Ski lift just a few minutes walk away, perfect location in Wengen.
I would happily stay in this hotel again.

Wonderful Traditional Swiss Hotel

The bad reviews are unjustified. We had a very nice stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. The room was a good size and plenty of hot water. It’s an old traditional Swiss hotel, which we found beautiful. Excellent location for the ski lifts and cog train. We would stay there again and would recommend.
