Just returned home from a week's skiing in half term with a family of two adults and two children. Stayed in a family room which was fantastic. Huge family room with separate double bedroom and two toilets with showers. Breakfast and dinner each day were really good with different choices everyday of quality home cooked food. Enjoyed the 10 minute walk each day to our ski storage at Rila Hotel. A really really good Hotel and had free WiFi to boot.

Really glad we chose to stay here.

It was a bit far from the centre of Borovets where the Bars are but Marianna and Ivor were very nice and I appreciate that. The room was really nice.. very good shower and bathroom.. Ivor made a lot of effort with the food... Very very nice couple.

We booked the Victoria having previously stayed at the samakov the season before.
Victoria is like a homely run family bed and breakfast , it is a good 15 minute walk uphill to the main town , however we did find a lively forest walk that was a shortcut and lit up of a evening .

Breakfast - good selection of cheese and meats , different eggs , toast beans etc

Dinner - always 2 meats , selection of veg and potatoes , salad , soup and breads and desserts .

The hotel has a sauna which we didn’t use , rooms were clean and clean towels every day , the bathrooms are wet rooms .

I was really poorly the last couple of days of my holiday and the staff in the hotel really looked after me , bringing toast up and organising a dr to visit me .

I would absolutely recommend this hotel was so much more personal than the Samakov and food was so much better here . As long as you don’t mind the walk , which we didn’t ! 

Would definitely stay again .

Lovely family feel

Plenty of choice for breakfast and dinner. Dated place but there’s a beautiful charm to it. The room which was given on arrival (room no 15) was too small with an extra bed and we requested to change. They changed it without any issues to No 16 which had plenty of space.
Shower room is small but functional. Only problem was the whole bathroom gets wet after a shower. We had no issue but if you are with a toddler would be difficult to be safe with a slippery bathroom floor.
Marianna and the guy who did the rooms were so friendly.
15 mins walk to the resort. A taxi asked for 20lev one way.
Al in all great, very comfortable place. Towels were changed every day while the bed linen every 3/4 days.
Didn’t use the sauna as 50lev for an hour where as nearby hotels offered full day sauna / pool for 30lev per person.

Great value for money

This is a treasure of a small hotel, staff are friendly and helpful, we upgraded to a family room and wow we got a suite, lovely beds, bathrooms and space to lounge about and dry the ski gear. We can’t comment on pillows as we always take a pair with us, lots of towels and surprisingly good complimentary toiletries.
Lovely and warm in the rooms with openable windows for sleeping, good hot water, very quiet for restful nights sleep.
Breakfast had plenty of tasty choice as did dinner, we really looked forward to the home cooking each night.
Overall a great place for a winter break, only a 10 minute walk up to the gondola especially through the shortcut that staff are happy to share.
