We had a wonderful stay at Villa Sokol! The staff were so welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was beautiful and so comfortable. The shower had amazing water pressure! Really peaceful and quiet area away from all the partying and noise on the strip. It was only a 10 minute walk to the main gondola, we chose to store our ski equipment in a locker close to the gondala to avoid having to walk the 10 minutes with it to and from the hotel. This was definitely the best idea. We loved the food at the hotel, a hold/cold buffet for breakfast and dinner. A great variety of choice each day. It was also amazing to use the jacuzzi and sauna after skiing each day. Really nice way to relax and was included with the stay. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel and we would definitely come back! Thank you to all the staff at Villa Sokol! ☺️ Kayleigh & Angus

Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough! Our stay was fantastic, the room was super clean, the bed was huge and really comfortable, the shower was amazing and the food…. Unbelievable!! Very friendly and helpful staff that were willing to give local recommendations and help with that ever we needed! A slightly more peaceful location being further down the hill so perfect for couples and families, would highly recommend and definitely will return!!

Amazing hotel, incredible food!!

Had a really good time here. The staff (Mario and Gabriella) were amazing and very helpful.  They really looked after my son and me.  The hotel was very well appointed. The food was excellent, obviously not as much choice as a big hotel, but there were several options at breakfast and dinner, all of which were really good (even for my picky son). The walk into town was uphill but not too far. There is a little shop just behind the hotel which is much cheaper than town.

I stayed here with my family for a short ski stay for February half term.  The hotel was super clean, lovely and warm and the staff were lovely. Georgia and Mario especially, they made us feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble.  Food was excellent, location good for town centre, slightly away from all the nightlife, which suited us as a family.  We would definitely recommend,

Lovely friendly welcoming stay!

We stayed for three nights and received a warm welcome on our arrival, which was quite late in the evening. Some food had been prepared for us which was a lovely touch. 

The hotel is stylish and warm and the staff are friendly. 

Our room was spacious and charming but severe lack of places to put your clothes apart from a very narrow wardrobe with a very high shelf. On our arrival we found we had to fix the curtains which were unhooked and so couldn’t be closed. Odd the staff hadn’t noticed. We also found a dirty tissue under a chair which had also been missed. The daily maid service wasn’t really noticeable! 

Although equipped with a smart tv we couldn’t access the functions that required it to connect to the internet. Not devastating but would have been nice to have. 

The bathrooms were very smart and pleasant - no bath but that’s fine for us.  

Breakfast and dinner were buffet style apart from a “King’s dinner” one evening where we had lamb shank cooked to perfection. 

There is a coffee station but unfortunately it wasn’t replenished regularly meaning not always equipped with the pods or the right sized cups. Just a small niggle.

We stayed on the second floor. We were told there was ski storage on basement level but when we went to look the whole area reeked of cigarettes and 
was not easy to access so we hired heated boot and ski lockers up in the centre for a very reasonable price instead. 

Although the hotel is supposed to have a ski shuttle we didn’t see it and weren’t told about it but it’s only a 10 minute walk to the centre.

Good but not quite 5 star

Luxury Villa "Sokol" is located in the center of Borovets, not far from the first station of the cabin lift and away from the hustle and bustle, which are typical for such an international ski center. Set amidst an old pine forest, this hotel enjoys the sun rays throughout the whole day. It's beautiful architecture excellently corresponds to the Ice Fountains, the famous symbols of Borovets. This villa l is built in high-class Victorian style and has 10 double rooms (with extra bed) and 2 VIP apartments overlooking the evergreen pine wood surroundings and the white ski slopes. The guests can choose between elegant main restaurant, winter garden with sun terrace, lobby bar, fully equipped conference hall, parking, SPA & Fitness center (indoor jacuzzi, sauna and massages). Borovets is the oldest ski resort in Bulgaria (estabilished 1896) and offers excellent conditions for winter sports - Alpine skiing, snowboarding, snowboard, ski running and more.
