Best time to ski in Brixen im Thale

Brixen im Thale and the wider Wilder Kaiser area have a good track record of snow from December to March. And for weeks when the snow gods don’t play ball, the snow cannons keep the slopes covered. If you can travel outside the school holidays, January is primetime for sunny bluebird days. But Christmas is when Brixen really turns on the magic. Market stalls glow beneath the cathedral bell towers, and light shows fill the streets with colour. Warm the cockles with a cup of hot cider and snack on delicious bratwurst hot dogs

The atmosphere in Brixen im Thale is generally calm and peaceful, so sit back and cosy up with a glass of aromatic Glühwein (aka mulled wine) at the end of a big day on the slopes. Not ready to stop just yet? There’s plenty to do away from the pistes too. Whizz down the 7.5km toboggan run at Söll. Trot along snowy valleys on a horse-drawn sleigh in Westendorf. Or head to Alpeniglu-Dorf to enjoy delicious fondue in an igloo - stay the night, too, if you dare!
