Slip on the ski boots and warm up the gluhwein, as you’re looking at the underrated gem of the upper Zillertal valley. Only a stone's throw from Mayrhofen, the Austrian ski resort of Hippach, provides incredible access to the ski area’s 142km of pisted paradise. But all the while retaining the quaint authentic Austrian charm, that people absolutely love. With heaps of cruisy blues, snaking around the resorts, beginners will find themselves at home in this relaxed terrain.
And for those who want more of a challenge, intermediates and advanced skiers can snap up mile after mile of reds and blacks waiting to be conquered. If you’re REALLY up for it, why not tackle the 78% gradient of the Harakiri Piste! Fancy a bit more terrain? Simply ski and gondola down to Mayrhofen or Finkenberg and jump on the 30-minute busses to the glacier. And naturally, when the skiing starts to ease off for the day, take the time to enjoy the traditional delicacies (and a stein or two!) on offer in the village of Hippach. Prost!
