Lovely hotel.  Very convenient for the bubble or the funival from La Daille into the ski area.  Mostly Greek staff who are from the Messini resort, very friendly and helpful, particularly Sofia.  Food was lovely, choose your options for dinner each morning and the kitchens are very accommodating with any requests.  Our rep Kara was a lovely young lady always with a smile and sunny disposition.  The hotel manager (French lady) was equally smiley.  The young Greek receptionist would do well to be a bit more friendly.

Afternoon tea is between 4.30 and 5.30 - cakes were delicious and plentiful.  Also fruit and bread/jam options too.  The chef is very good. 

The room we had was very cramped (105).  How do these rooms work if you go for twin beds?  There were no bedside tables, no water glasses, no slippers (despite being told these were provided) and no body lotion. 

As another reviewer (Nigel) stated below, the housekeeping side of the hotel is sub-standard.  Our bathroom wasn't cleaned once during the week, no water glasses, no hoovering until I requested it and I also had to suggest the common stairs area needed hoovering too.  In the end we put our dirty mugs and glasses in the hallway to have them removed, as we saw other rooms were doing the same.  In most hotels you are aware of the housekeeping team.  In La Toviere we never once saw anyone in housekeeping, which could maybe account for the level of service.  

For older or less mobile guests, our shower was in the bath, with quite a big step in -something to be aware of if mobility is an issue.

The tables in the restaurant are very cosy with the neighbouring tables so you end up feeling like you're in someone else's conversation which isn't always ideal.  I would have 4 tables in the back room as opposed to 6 to give people more space.  Particularly as dinner is over 4 different shifts so there would be space. 

The spa area is lovely, with towels provided.  Steam room is excellent, as is the jacuzzi when it works.  Pool was the perfect temperature.  Really lovely space and one of the reasons we chose the hotel.

Ski room is a good size, as are the lockers and the boot heaters work really well.  

Would I return?  Probably but I think I'd ask for a different room.

March skiing - Lovely cosy hotel.

Went skiing with Neilsons. We have been to this hotel before because of its excellent location just access the road from the funicular and bubble in La Daille. We had a great room this time (402) which was a spacious suite facing the slopes, as we had sunny weather we could sun bath on our balcony at the end of a day’s skiing.

The hotel is staffed by Greeks from one of Neilson’s summer resorts. The food was excellent and unlike smaller chalets we got fed every night. The cakes at tea time were delicious and the breakfast extensive. 

The hotel is holding up well from its refurbishment some years ago. There is a spa with swimming pool, saunas etc for those who like that sort of thing.

My only criticism is over the poor housekeeping. They just about managed to make the bed (badly) although one day they did not even do this. They never hoovered, they took away cups and did not replace them etc.

Note that you have to take your own luggage to and from your room and there is only one small lift.

Excellent location

We went with Nielson to the Toviere as a family of 4. The whole experience far exceeded our expectations. Prior to the trip Nielson were so efficient and informative, as were their staff on site. Well done Angus! We had a suite and a standard room. Both were very good but the suite was exceptional. The entire hotel was beautifully furnished. Food was good, and the hotel staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. In the basement is a very good spa, including pool, steam room, and sauna. Very welcome after a day on the slopes. A real bonus is ski guiding included in the cost. Everything absolutely excellent, and we are coming back.

Great in every regard.

This hotel exceeded our expectations and the best ski hotel we have stayed in. Great staff, great food - Mixture of Greek with French cuisine, great afternoon tea homemade cakes, great little après ski bar across the road with the bubble and train also easily accessed across the road, giving access to all the areas, including Val d'Isere and Tignes. This is not right in the heart of Val d'Isere but only a 20 minute walk in and was not an issue at all. The hotel was so cosy we did not mind staying in as the amazing 3 course dinner was so good. Even on transfer, everyone was on the bus staying at this hotel there was no hanging around waiting to be dropped off at different hotels.

Amazing hotel

We stayed here on a ski trip and it is an excellent hotel in all respects - great location (opposite the list and the Rosee Blanche bar/resto, comfortable rooms and a nice spa area in the basement as well as a decent ski room. We had half board and the food was superb - excellent chef and friendly / efficient table service. Reasonable drinks prices. But what I really want to call out here are the staff. I had an accident on day 3 of the trip and the staff (who had already earned this review by the way) were just fantastic. I have rarely seen such a comprehensively kind, cheerful and guest focused team in a hotel - well done to the managers and to the team, it was a pleasure staying at your hotel and I am only sad the stay was cut short. If I ever get back on skis, we will be back!
